I anxious to see if Ron and his writing team dabble a little more into this to see what life was like on Caprica and the other colonies. Entertainment, sports... It's kind of cool because the writers have a free hand in this. It doesn't have to resemble anything from our culture. Like that crazy football/ rugger game from Starship Troopers. Or some crazy music genre that we have never heard before. Or even Cylon Culture. - That should be pretty interesting. I'm sooo pumped for the 2nd season. ;D I hope they don't have Apollo et al play that stupid basketball type game they played in the original . Would like to see Apollo and his dad playing a round of golf over in Cloud 9. If it's supposed to be a luxury liner surely they would have a golf course ;D

For Moore's Galactica to really succeed it needs to reach out to the original fanbase in some ways. Redoing some of the stories is one way. I think Larson patented the Pegasus universe so it may be dificult to do a LL story an Iblis story is another matter. Succeeded to who? In my eyes it already has - it is a success in its own right. Does Moore really need to reach out to the original fanbase? Even if he did go along the lines of casting a Count Iblis there would still be original fans expressing dissent. Just my two cents worth

The reason the TNG episode Shades of Gray was a clip episode was because there was a writer's strike at the time and basically there was no material. I remember Patrick Stewart saying this in an interview. Hopefully, BSG won't EVER have this problem....

guys, JEO is a terrifying dude.... I don't think you'd be able to hang onto his legs... because honestly, he could look at any of us, and we'd spontaneously combust Hope you don't mean that in a bad way ;D. I would be happy for him to look at me any way he wants. Don't fancy the spontaneous combustion part though

Um, I wouldn't want to be an extra. Never mind the fact that I have a hideous face and the acting ability of a burnt pancake. I just know if I was in a scene or hell, on the set, with EJO I'd end up rugby-tackling him to the ground and the poor guy'd have to spend the rest of the day sort of dragging me around because I'd refuse to let go of his leg. Lords of Kobol, I am SUCH a sad groupie... ;D ;D I would be grabbing on to his other leg So no i don't think i would make a good extra either. Have acting experience though if you count my significant roles in my school plays many years ago.... ho hum

I can't think of anyone I would want on the new series *less* than D.B. In fact, I really don't see the point of having any more actors from TOS on the new show. If Hatch's character comes back, since he is already established, that might work all right, but they would have to be careful not to overdo it as far as I am concerned. More TOS actors on the show it could be detrimental and a step backward IMO. I totally agree Ah-chie. The show (as the rating have shown) doesn't need to keep tipping its hat to the original. Please don't bring in DB as a smart arse commander or Starbuck's dad or whatever. I hate slagging off actors but what has DB done in the last 20 years in terms of acting? I for one would be really disappointed with RDM if they brought DB into the show. However, i have faith that RDM is better than this (i.e. he knows DB is a crap actor ;D) Agreed. Although i wouldn't mind some of the secondary characters like Dualla or Cally etc being reunited with family. Remember the series has only covered about 3 months (if that - i can't remember now). It's possible some people might be reunited with family but i wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I think in the next series the show should be looking at members of the crew trying to come to terms with the aftermath of the destruction of their colonies. Season 1 given its short time frame dealt with the here and now. I don't know. Anything i've seen her in i have always thought she's been pretty bland . I see her more as a pretty face kind of actress. Wouldn't class her in Mary McDonnell's league.

Dirk as Starbuck's dad? Please no! In the latest edition of Dreamwatch, there is a Q&A with Dirk. I was amused at some of his answers: DW: What's your dream role? DB: Playing Starbuck at age 50 (in the proposed galactica continuation) would have been a dream role. (What i say: Please let it remain a dream.) DW: If you could pass one law, what would it be? DB: There shall be no remakes of old american tv series without script approval of at least 60 per cent of the old fans that made the original series a success in the first place. DW: Starbuck Vs Han Solo: who wins? DB:Neither. They would go off to the nearest grotto to drink ambrosia, smoke fumerellos and pick up groovy space chicks. I'm sorry, but Han and Starbuck would never fight. Think he's right there ;D Don't know about our Starbuck though. Han was a pretty good looking guy...

If the baby is the goal, then there damn well better be a good plot device to explain why they needed to nuke humanity to achieve it. Agreed. For me, this is probably the most complex storyline of the series so far. Can't wait to see how they resolve it (i can see the writers scribbling furiously now ).

I love that he takes the time to interact with fans in such a thoughtful and respectful way. He gives the impression of actually being interested in what fans have to say about the show and the questions asked. It's also fascinating to hear him explain the thinking behind the making of BSG. I love being in at the start of this show, well the new one obviously. Erika Yeah i agree. I think its positive that he reads what the fans have got to say and admits to an error here and there. Although he must get a laugh sometimes when he reads some of the comments at the sciffy board. I worry about people sometimes....

There was plenty of goo and slime in the Cylon Raider Although i remember an interview with EJO who said the moment an alien appears on the show - he's walking. So i don't think Adama and crew will encounter ET just yet.

I think they would almost have to extend the shooting schedule as this is another 7 episodes. I would not worry. RDM's influence will be very visible in these shows & he will make sure that they are of the same quality as the ones this season. KR I hope so but i still have my concerns.

This show is different than all the others Agreed - at the moment yes. But after 20 or so episodes a season - will we still be saying that? Personally, if it does opt for more than 20+ episodes i feel it will end up going down the route of Star Trek or Stargate rather than being regarded as 'serious' drama. That's just my opinion i might be wrong. Ron is just one creative talent behind the show (albeit the main one). However, i feel a successful show is very much an ensemble talent of writers, directors, actors and producers. I still think with 20 episodes produced and directed within a short timeframe (money is everything) the writers (and everyone really - directors, actors included) find themselves stretched and put under pressure more. Usually when this happens the writing becomes forced, weak or lazy and in some cases this can have a knock on effect on how the actors interpret their scenes. Also if the quality drops we won't need to worry about characters looking old because they won't be there! Characters will start being killed off at the actors request. I really don't think EJO, Mary MCDonnell, Jamie Bamber, James Callis would want to star in another Stargate/Star Trek type show. Maybe i'm wrong. Maybe they will go for 20 episodes and i hope my concerns are proved wrong...i love the show too and i want to be saying this several years down the line.

I'm in complete agreement here. I used to hate watching the "oh the holodeck has malfuctioned again" episodes of ST:TNG. Then an episode like the Inner Light or Best of Both Worlds would come along and it restored my faith.
With BSG i don't want to have my faith restored every now and again. If 13 episodes allows the directors, actors and writers more time to focus on what's working and what's not then i'm all for a shorter season. I want to see every episode in part to move the story along. If BSG continues its high standard then hopefully it will begin to be taken seriously as an adult drama like The Sopranos, 24, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me or whatever. I would love to see it garner an award nomination for best drama without people seeing it as "we can't take this seriously because its a sci-fi show".
