I agree with you Cylon. As long as the quality dosent go down more power to them with 20 episodes.

The budget is expected to be the same for each of the 20 episodes as it was for Season 1. KR

As long as we have no 'holodec malfunction' episodes I'll be more then happy with 20 episodes!

I think this sucks. Equal budget or no equal budget, I think it will bring down the quality of the episodes. Unless they extend the shooting schedule, then it could work.

I think they would almost have to extend the shooting schedule as this is another 7 episodes. I would not worry. RDM's influence will be very visible in these shows & he will make sure that they are of the same quality as the ones this season. KR

20 eps says too much for me but giving the actors a break mid way says more ;D

Most episodic TV of the drama formula takes 8 days per for principle photography and then a few weeks of second unit and post work such as looping and FX/CGI. The post stuff for two or three eps is using being done at the same time as another one is lensing and because they have different units in charge of each- they tend not to cause too much strife.
Sometimes if one director is doing two eps back to back, things can get crunched by usually while the first director is doing pre-shoot prep, the one from the previous one is filming and then that one goes to editing while the other starts lensing.
It's an art but one they probably have down to an art-form. They're not going to risk quality by crunching the film times and more to the point, they simply can't- TV doesn't work that way.
