I'm talking about the culture that has been portrayed from Ron Moore's and the writer's perpective.
I notice that they like to play cards ( gamble) Not too much music. - Other than the colonial day ep. Some 50's swinging style music. I'm sure I've missed some stuff.
It's just the neat small details you notice maybe the 2nd time around watching the 1st season.
I anxious to see if Ron and his writing team dabble a little more into this to see what life was like on Caprica and the other colonies. Entertainment, sports... It's kind of cool because the writers have a free hand in this. It doesn't have to resemble anything from our culture. Like that crazy football/ rugger game from Starship Troopers. Or some crazy music genre that we have never heard before. Or even Cylon Culture. - That should be pretty interesting. I'm sooo pumped for the 2nd season. ;D

There was classical stringed music playing at the dinner in Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down.
They've mentioned Pyramid, and we've seen them playing it (cards is I think a common pasttime on military vessels anyway, since you can gamble on it). Let's hope they DON'T mention Triad...
You're right, season 2 is going to be brilliant. And some Cylon cultural insight would be great too. What do Cylons do for fun other than hurl darts at photographs of former Human slave drivers?

*Beat each other up
*Fly any Vipers left at Colonial bases on Caprica
*Adopt all the rats as pets

Would like to see Apollo and his dad playing a round of golf over in Cloud 9. If it's supposed to be a luxury liner surely they would have a golf course ;D |

Oh yeah I forgot about the boxing...... Upgrade that father son match to a cage match.....  Rats as pets.........yeah I guess after that nuclear fall out. Dr Baltar drinks some crazy green alcohol and looking at what Tigh drinks..... some kind of scotch. Havn't seen any beer yet |

Just watching a couple episodes again this week.... I think I remember Baltar mentioning something about THC.. ( if you all know what that is) Pot smokers on BSG....interesting. I just thought of this because of CylonGod's thread in the Off topic forum  |

Pot may not be illegal in Caprican culture. it's legal in some places on Earth, so why not? I imagine you're not supposed to use it on military ships. I also doubt that it wouldn't be an episode that "you should have bene there but you were smoking drugs!" bull because of the Smoking Doctor, they've proved they're not PC and wouldn't do that kind of episode. Would be neat to see Apollo lighting a reefer.

That sort've makes me suddenly imagine a "Fellowship of the Ring" reference with perhaps Adama and Lee standing there, with cigars, and the old man blows smoke in the form of the Galactica which appears to jump to FTL speeds. Haha... wow, that's odd.
