yes, series in England means season in America (one of many things that briefly confused me when I crossed the pond).
while I've heard no official word on a second season/series/set of episodes corresponding to the change in the tilt of the earth as it rotates around the sun, I think with the ratings numbers it is almost assured.

It may be that I like the (human) Gaeta character too much but I can't see him being a cylon. In the mini when the ship was still being decomissioned he said to Adama that it had been an honour serving with him the past three years. This seems like far too long a period for the cylons to have planted an agent. We don't know if any of the cylon models replace actual people but so far it seems real humans never existed for the models we have. That camera jerk during the handshake is still very hard to ignore though....

So there is no telling how long before the Cylon's attacked the home worlds, that they planted their spys.

The original human valerii died as a child, if the cylon valerii was substituted at that time then humanoid cylons might have been running around the colonies twenty years or so earlier.
Having rewatched the ep. that dipping camera is hard to ignore.

From what I remember of the mini, Six was with Baltar for about 2 years, so I think the old "they are among us" holds true here. They may have been in the colonies since shortly after the first war ended.

early Feb is when the decision is made.
On another note did anyone else notice that in the last closeup pan across the Boomers aboard the basestar the one on the far right was the only one whose face was in compete darkness, that the soundtrack played a discordant note as that one came into view and that it was at that point that BSG Boomer bricked it? Too short to be roslin though, unless she was standing in a hole.

Did anyone else notice?
When I was watching KLG pt.2, a certain visual really jumped out at me. In the scene where Six is leading Baltar to the ruins of the opera house on Kobol, there is a pullback shot from the ruined arch that eventually shows the whole valley, and the mountains in the background. It struck me the first time I saw it quite strongly (kind of a "frak me" moment). After watching this a few times, it seems to me the mountains in the background of this shot bear a striking resemblance in size, shape, and layout to the famous "Three Pyramids" shot that is often used to show Egypt's Valley of the Kings.
I find it interesting (if this is the case, and not just my own twisted imagination) because 1) It shows the Egyptians were trying to create an "echo" of a place that was key in their own history, and 2) The original series (in all of it's lovable hokum) filmed their Kobol sequence in the Valley of the Kings (or a remarkable hollywood resemblance thereof).
Any thoughts?

I suspect the main reason the pyramids of Giza hit you is the Egyptian background music when Six is leading Baltar. One could easily segway from that music to the Stargate theme. There are 3 mountains close, with another chain further away. The middle pyramid is the largest, and the middle mountain could be the largest; it does not go up as high in the picture as its left neighbor, but the middle peak is further away. I lean towards believing the similarity is intentional. If it is, good catch. It may be intended for atmosphere rather than meaning, though.

I watched this part again (3x actually) and all of the Boomers in the back row are in darkness and you can't see there face but they are exactly the same hight and are Boomers as you can see them as they walk up to that spot. If I saw 10 to 15 of myself I would brick it out of there too.

Egyptian music? Thought it was a string quartet playing a gavotte or waltz myself, as in the promo to ep 12.
All the "God" refs so far seem Greek; no Egyptian?

Is it just me or did Baltar just symbolically marry Six (and therefore been initiated into her family)?
The white dress, the music, walking down the aisle, the making of his choice, holding hands and then the kissing after the making of the choice.

Grrr. You're going by memory? I wasn't. Watch it again. When Baltar is laying on the grass and Six, or hallucination thereof, comes to him, Egyptian or Middle Eastern music starts. It is very similar to "To Zucchabar," the song on the Gladiator soundtrack when the story moves to the Middle East. Both songs use an instrument called the Armenian Dadek or Duduk. Here is the sound: www.americanistan.com/Duduk.mp3This instrument is also used during at least some religious scenes in BSG. And actually that scene of which we speak, with Six leading Baltar to the ruins near the three mountains, is a religious scene. It is "the resurrection of Baltar," following his "crucifixion." And yes, it was a very busy day for Baltar, as he was married just after being resurrected from his crucifixion after being cast down from heaven.

Here is a nice detail the special effects guys did. At the start of episode 13, Colonial One is snuggled close to Galactica. I don't know if it's always so close in previous episodes, but it immediately reminded me of a remora swimming along side a shark: Then after the poop hits the impellor and Adama orders the CAP to isolate Colonial One from the fleet, they show a view with Colonial One in the foreground and a little itsy bitsy baby Galactica in the background. I'm glad they care about the details like this.

Egyptian music - sorry, right got you. I thought you meant the leading by the hand scene in the opera house.
I wonder if it is a synth? Is it a temp track from the mini - I don't recognise it.
Email Bear McCreary at his website and ask - he replies.
