Now that Enterprise is cancelled, I'd guess it is more a cert

Best line?
In 33 to Adama: "Are you eating this? (with mouth full)" as he consumes cold noodle leftovers.

These additional scenes/dialogue were not in the "premiere" UK showing.
General consensus on this is that they were cut because references to sex and smoking violate the 9pm watershed. Sky only started repeating episodes at 10pm after Christmas (and indeed only started showings at 5pm and 6pm then too.) Previously all showings, on Sky 1 or Sky Mix were at 8pm or 7pm.
So, looks like there were edits in the UK.
Additional confusion is generated because various stills show scenes in episodes that were not aired - but I believe these to be edits made for time, not content.
At least one episode after Christmas was edited for the 5pm re-showing (sex and violence cuts); not yet clear if the 10pm repeats included material not shown in the 8pm premiere (eg material presumably to be included in the US airing.) We'd need someone who taped the 10pm repeat to tell.
Hope this helps.

Hi KR, Ign are slightly wrong. Some UK showings have been edited by Sky - the 5pm and 6pm repeats did not include some of the steamier sexy scenes.
However, the first run episodes I can believe are the same, bar the theme music and titles.
But there is the mystery of the Starbuck briefing. In the UK premiere version of Bastille Day she definitely does not tell Flattop that he has been using the wrong hand, or whatever the masturbation innuendo was. I just watched it. If US viewers say that she did, then IGN are wrong (and so are Sci-Fi)

There's an interview on MediaBlvd and Sci-Fi. In essence, Gibbs wrote a theme (the UK theme) which he didn't like much himself because he was asked to match a temp-track (done from existing music, and not Gibbs stuff) Moore and Eick had put on the edit. He wanted to use themes from the mini. But he did it.
Months pass; Bonnie Hammer, exec of Sci-Fi doesn't like the theme, finds it too downbeat and asks for a re-draft. Gibbs has a go, but gets pissed off and hands it over to Bear McCreary, who does the music for the show proper.
Verdict? Not just Hammer who messed with the music - Gibbs seems clear that Moore & Eick were temp-track hounds (many producers are) and messed Gibbs around too.

I'm really not sure that this is just the circularity of rumour - apparently.
What proof is there that the 10pm Sky Mix showings - aren't they an innovation only since Christmas? - contain footage not in the 8pm premiere?
None as far as I know. I can't believe that fans in the UK who gobble it up and watch repeats even though they've taped it, would not have noticed and posted - not one?
That doesn't mean that the edit we know of in Ep3, where the US did get different dialogue isn't real - but it might mean we never saw it in any timeslot?
As for cuts from 8pm to 5pm, this seems more credible and I'd be interested to know if Sky moved the repeat to that timeslot deliberately to get a younger audience and edited for such. But, the only episode I can recall seeing in that slot didn't seem edited?
Surely someone must know more.

Well, Sky also repeat it at 5pm and though I haven't watched them all at that time, I haven't noticed any edits. Indeed I'm pretty sure I saw the repeat of Secrets and Lies and it had all the Tigh-Ellen groping etc. still in there.
Since after Christmas there has been a Sky Mix showing at 10pm - someone has posted at Skiffy that episodes then have had some scenes not shown at 8pm. Again, anyone confirm this? I am very sceptical - Sky would surely trail the fact?
In other words: Is 5pm edited against 8pm and 8pm edited against 10pm in the UK? And even if it is, are those edits local, or does the "unedited" include stuff shown in the US?
I think 9pm is the offical "watershed" but sometimes Sky do make announcements that subscription channels have an 8pm one, not 9pm. True of Sky 1?

Egyptian music - sorry, right got you. I thought you meant the leading by the hand scene in the opera house.
I wonder if it is a synth? Is it a temp track from the mini - I don't recognise it.
Email Bear McCreary at his website and ask - he replies.

Egyptian music? Thought it was a string quartet playing a gavotte or waltz myself, as in the promo to ep 12.
All the "God" refs so far seem Greek; no Egyptian?

If we presume that in S2 we must learn of another Cylon, and that for dramatic effect, it is a character we know already, then I don't think it can be Adama. It could be Gaeta. It could be Duella. It could be Billy. It could be...
We are now victims of the same suspicions that the crew of the Big-G must be - Is he? Is she? Or worse.... Am I?

Silica Relays in Human Cylons
I guess we need to take it literally - they relay things. What? Well, information, either from Cylon to Cylon or from dying Clyon to new body Cylon. Perhaps this "implant" (some sort of deep tendrils in the brain) is all that makes a Cylon a Cylon? Otherwise, human because they are human.
It would have to somehow also permit super strength though.

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the future baby in the crib is the product of a Baltar-Six union to come, and not Helo-Boomer.
33 (from memory) Six: "I want us to have a child" Baltar "You can't be serious..."
Aha...

This is a spoiler thread now right? The ep has been shown, so why read it unless you know or want to?
So here is a summary...
“Kobal’s Last Gleaming: Part 2”
Directed by Michael Rymer UK airdate 24th Jan 05
Captions and We open with a summary of scenes from Part 1 – Helo, Boomer, Roslin, Kara, etc.
The episode begins with scenes of the crashed Raptor burning on Kobal; the crew fight to get out; Tyrol and Crashdown pull people from the wreck. Baltar is trapped, in danger of dying, but Six appears, ghost-like, and tells him to take her hand. He does… and suddenly Crashdown breaks the moment, pulling him free. The Raptor explodes! Baltar stumbles about and collapses in the grass.
Title sequence Promo shots of the episode
We open with Helo on Caprica. He and Boomer are in a museum, the home of the Arrow of Apollo Boomer tells him - “Don’t you know your history?” They bicker - he needs her to get off the planet and back to Galactica; without her, the Cylons would have caught them ages ago.
On Galactica – Tigh says Kara’s actions are unbelievable. “She must have been coerced” says Adama. He calls Roslin and tells her of Kara’s actions and demands to know if she told Kara to go to Caprica. She admits it, and claims her responsibility to the fleet as President over-rode his military decision. Adama asks her for her resignation. She refuses and Adama tells her that he is terminating her Presidency. “You’ll have to come and arrest me” says Roslin. “You don’t want bloodshed – and neither does the Press who are with me, recording every moment…”
Tigh and Adama order Colonial One isolated and prepare a strike team; “She’s bluffing” he say. “He’s bluffing” says Roslin.
Adama asks Lt Gaeta about the Cylon transponders – one is working. “I need a pilot” he says and goes to talk to Boomer in the infirmary. “I need you to jump to Kobal and take care of the Basestar” he tells her. “The transponder will let you through – for all they know you could be a Cylon agent returning with a captured Raptor. Make like you want to dock and fire your nuke into the Basestar.”
Apollo and the Striketeam prepares… as Kara is underway; she’s not sure where she is – and then Caprica hoves into view. “I’m good, I’m home” she says. Her Raider flies through Cylon ships and over Caprica city unmolested.
Below, Helo and Boomer discuss their situation. “You don’t have feelings, you have software.” “We were important” says Boomer. “It brought us closer to God. Beyond that I genuinely feel something for you.” “I don’t care, I don’t love you” he says. “There’s something you should know… I’m pregnant.”
Apollo’s striketeam moves in for the assault as Boomer and Racetrack depart for Kobal. Apollo’s team soft-dock, as Roslin briefs her advisors and reporters that an attack may be imminent. Billy refuses to go… as the sound of someone cutting through the hull is reported.
On Caprica Kara has landed outside the museum; she enters and begins to look for the Arrow of Apollo; she takes anti-radiation meds to help her survive and moves deeper inside.
Boomer and Racetrack arrive alongside the Basestar; Raiders emerge but don’t molest them. They head toward it.
On Kobal, the survivors pick themselves up and try to organise and help the wounded. Crashdown and Tyrol discuss what to do – make for the high ground or stay low? Crashdown is indecisive.
Boomer and Racetrack try to launch the nuke – it won’t release, it’s jammed. Boomer says they have to dock and land inside the Basestar and they can trigger it manually. They move in…
Baltar wakes to the sight of Six. “You saved me” he says. “Care to return the favour?” she says “You wondered why you were chosen? Now is the time to find out why…” Six leads him by the hand and they walk towards the ruins…
On Colonial One, Roslin, her advisors and security force wait for the Striketeam. They will not yield. “So be it” says Adama… Roslin stands tall and awaits her fate.
Kara is deep in the museum; she has found the arrow; she shatters the case…. Six leads Baltar… Kara takes the arrow… Six appears behind her… She and Kara tussle, Kara fires but Six evades her…
Boomer enters the Basestar, it has strange, manufactured but organic-looking configurations. They land. Boomer exits to release the bomb manually.
Kara hunts Six in the museum; Six appears again, knocks the gun from her hand and they fight hand to hand. Six is the stronger, ramming Kara into statues…
The Striketeam enter, Tigh and Adama in the lead, to a face-off…
Boomer releases the bomb… and walks off, deeper into the Basestar! Figures approach – they say “Sharon” – there are multiple Boomers!
Six taunts Kara… they fight. Kara is losing… Six grabs the arrow… Helo enters… Six is surprised allowing Kara to rush her. Six and Kara topple over into a deep vault.
Tigh tells Roslin she is under arrest… and Lee draws his gun on Tigh. He tells him this is not right and he must order the striketeam to withdraw. “This is mutiny” says Tigh. “Tell my father I am following my instincts. We can’t surrender our democracy because the President makes a bad decision.” Roslin intervenes and surrenders. Lee is disarmed.
Boomer and the Sharons… They tell her they know she is confused and scared. “I’m not a Cylon!” she says. “You can’t fight destiny they tell her. Whatever happens we love you Sharon. We’ll see you again…” Boomer flees back to the Raptor and they leave at speed. The Sharons examine the nuke - and it goes off! Boom!
Tigh calls Adama and tells him of Lee’s mutiny. “Bring him here. And put Roslin in the brig.” Boomer jumps back – mission accomplished. “Come on home”, says Adama.
On Caprica. Helo helps Kara gets up, from on top of the dead Six, the arrow through her (and a rebar from the ruins.) They greet each other, warmly. Kara sees Boomer – “She’s a Cylon!” and fires, but Helo deflects her aim. You can’t says Helo – "No, she’s pregnant." Kara collapses in tears.
Baltar and Six walk among the ruins on Kobol. “I know this place” says Baltar. They enter a building… and are back inside it as it once was. It is the Opera House. “Life has a melody and its notes are played in harmony with God’s plan” she says “Realise your destiny. You are the guardian and protector of the new generation of God’s children. The first member of our family will be with us soon. It's time to make your choice. See the face and the shape of things to come.” They climb on the stage and look into a crib (and what do they see?)… He gasps. They kiss.
On Galactica, Adama visits Roslin in the brig. Boomer comes back to the bridge. Adama appears, Lee is there, in handcuffs now. Adama congratulates Boomer and Racetrack for obeying orders.. he reaches out to shake hands - and Boomer’s hand comes up with a gun and shoots him twice in the guts. This is intercut with scenes of Six and Baltar kissing. Chaos on the bridge.
Fade out with a bloodied Adama lying on the chart table, in Lee's arms…

OK - this all might seem very obvious, but from the infamous pics and the little trail at the end of Ep 12, it seems right to think that Boomer flies a Raptor mission that somehow destroys the Baseship and comes back to Galactica in triumph only to shoot someone very important?
And that Lee, trusting his instinct more, as his father told him too in the boxing match, does something or other that gets him into a confrontation.
