I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that the future baby in the crib is the product of a Baltar-Six union to come, and not Helo-Boomer. 33 (from memory) Six: "I want us to have a child" Baltar "You can't be serious..." Aha... I think so as well, by the way that he grabbed and kissed her it was like a man just finding out his wife or girlfriend is pregnant and being very happy about it. It was a glimpse of things to come. I am also wondering if Baltar will go back to the fleet or completely join the Cylons now.

Given that I believe Eddie James Olmos and Adama are a crucial part of the show, I REALLY REALLY don't see him as being killed. The shots were low into the belly and not high into the chest. Probably excruciatingly painful but definitely survivable especially if they're fortunate enough to have the fleet doctor actually on-ship.
What I would guess however is that S2 will pick up right where S1 finished off and that the first several eps will have Tigh in command- something I don't think he has ever wanted or desired. This severe injury to Adama and to the overall power structure will likely serve as both Lee and the Pres's get out of jail free card- it might even be a wake-up call for her.
MJM: I think at this stage both Baltar and the Cyclons have more to gain with him still among the humans. What I'm curious to find out is if in S2 either Tyrol or Crashdown will locate Baltar in his Crucifixation pose still among the grass and weeds, deep in delusion. I don't believe he's ever left there at all.

BBC cult Review: Galactica's finale provides everything except answers.
WARNING: SPOILER HEAVY
Ron Moore must have been one very confident man when he plotted out the arc of this series. This episode is assured, intense and gripping, but leaves more unanswered questions than a politician on Newsnight.
Will Adama survive? Is the President bonkers? What did Baltar see? And why did the Cylons have to go to such extreme lengths just so one of them could get knocked up? Thank the gods that another six episodes at least have already been commissioned.
Most US programmes have an A and a B story. Here we had Baltar on Kobol experiencing serene, mystic visions of human past and Cylon future in the midst of death, while up in the fleet, Adama and the President faced off in an tense political drama that tests Apollo's loyalties to the limit.
But Galactica went not one, but two better, adding in story strands C and D. Boomer, of all people, is picked to destroy the Cylon base ship. After running the gauntlet of its meaty, gutlike interior, and an eerie horde of zealot-eyed Sharon models she succeeds in annihilating the ship in the best space explosion on screen ever.
Meanwhile, under Caprica's golden light, Starbuck fights for her life with Number Six, as Helo copes with the thought of becoming father to a half-Cylon.
Enough action for you? Had enough surprises? Well, tough, because this episode has one more. Seconds from the end, Boomer shoots Adama, in a scene so harsh and shocking it was like watching a murder in the street.
And there it ends, for the time being. Can we have some more please, Mr Moore? Soon if you can manage it.

Hey All,
New guy here, watched episode 13 last night, and I'll just say the ending totally suprised me, but in a very cool way. Just throwing out a theory. (Don't know if this has already been done, to many post!)
I'm thinking that Adama was replaced by a Cylon way back on episode nine. He might have been swapped out when he 'found' Col. Tigh's wife. Which was after the President being told that Adama was a cylon, which lead to his blood tested being tested. (Baltar 'talked' to Adama's blood before Adama returned with Tigh's wife) and Boomer offed him because she figured it out, or overrode her programming that told her not to kill Adama.
Just a theory, bash away ;D

An interesting peice of imagery, and perhaps symbolism, caught my eye (I'm assuming yours as well). That, my friends, is clearly a fallen angel. This is where my biblical knowledge starts and ends: I started reading The Old Testament last year. I've read Genesis. I'm currently reading exodus (I'm at the part where Moses and his people are in the desert and bread starts dropping from the sky) I haven't come across any fallen angels yet. So, I've searched different articles and the basic consensus around 'Fallen Angels' is this: In Christian mythology, a fallen angel is an angel exiled or banished from Heaven after not obeying God's mandate or rebelling against Him. After the First War in Heaven, many angels were expelled from it, therefore becoming fallen angels. But this seems more relavent to BSG: The most infamous fallen angel is Lucifer (although this word never refers to a fallen angel in the Bible). According to Christian belief, fallen angels roam the earth until Judgment Day. They are then banished to Hell. There are a few hypothoses and myths regarding the fall of angels; most of them having free will —lust or pride— as main theme, or an incomprehensible understanding of the acts of God.Okay... I'll let you guys form the connections. Are there any bible experts out there? Does anyone have more information about this? Could there be a link between the old stories and this new show? (This WikiPedia listing would be an excellent starting point for those of you who want a quick general understanding of what's going on: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallen_angel)

Mmm. Looks more like a Jesus analogy to me. The bent of the knee and shape of the arms is more than slightly like the age-old symbols and statues. I think Baltar has been cast in the role of the savior of the Cylons. The Messiah. Only where Jesus refused the Temptation on the Mount, Baltar clearly succumbed to it.

Okay...my two-cents worth: Ernie, those long ships DID immediately make me think of tankers. I think the other sharons let her leave and didn't disable the nuke BECAUSE they were willing to sacrifice a basestar in order for her to do her mission and whack Adama. That kinda shows how important the plan is. After she did the deed, did you notice they stayed on her face, and there was the change in her eyes...that is, she seemed to suddenly be aware of what she had just done? Finally...did you guys notice the visible crew-member in the shot when Starbuck shoots the glass around the arrow? Kinda funny ;D Spass

*laugh* Oops.
Noticed the Boomer "un-glazing" as well...that's one hell of a blackout...
Curious if immediate redemption will be allowed in helping to save Adama's life. Probably not- doubt either Apollo or Tigh would let her close.

*laugh* Oops. Noticed the Boomer "un-glazing" as well...that's one hell of a blackout... She has a very similar expression on her face at the beginning of "Water". Probably for unsurprising reasons. Not like there would have been much for her to do anyway.

When the men on board Galactica find out there's hundreds of naked 'women' on board those basestars they're going to mutiny and defect to the other side for sure!!!

Did the Cylon allow Boomer onboard the Basestar so they could repair her programming? They removed her helmet nad touched her maybe a connection was made. The Galactica can identify when the Cylons have nukes so why can't the Cylon determine that the Raptor had a nuke. The Cylons have done things like this in the past by allowing the fleet to do something which appears to be favoring the fleet while advancing the Cylon agenda.
