And now for my weekly garbled dialog question...
GAETA: [Shaking Boomer's hand with shaky camera zooming in on this.] Hey, nice work.
BOOMER: Thanks. What's going on?
GAETA: A lot happened while you were gone. [Glances at Adama entering, then says under his breath...] Move your ass. [Edit: Actually, it's "congrats", as said in a later post.]
BOOMER: [Without moving lips!] Thanks.
The lines I am questioning are in italics. Move your ass?! Is that the Cylon activation phrase for "Kill Adama!"? What else does Boomer need to get busy doing? And how does Boomer reply without moving her lips, or is that someone else saying "Thanks?" My current feeling is that Gaeta indeed says "Move your ass," but he is not talking to Boomer, and whomever he addresses is the one who replies "Thanks."
Lt. Gaeta is watching Adama's congratulations until just before the moment of the shooting, when he "purposefully" looks away. Well, it is purposefully, because I'm sure the actor was directed to look away then. Hmmm. He does act quite startled by the sound of the gun, though.

This depends on whether Sky believe the viewing figures justified the original financing deal. Given the relative positioning of BSG in their viewing charts, the indications are currently good. Y'know, I may have been watching too many Oliver Stone movies lately, and this is probably a point for another thread, but I've always wondered whether there was more to the "UK first, by three months" thing than just Sky's money. Look at what the situation was in the USA a few months ago. The die-hard TOS fans were slagging TNS off and vowing not to watch it. The general public probably either had no opinion at all, were listening to their TNS-hating friend, or simply thought of Battlestar Galactica as that campy 70's series with the guy from Bonanza and Face from the A-Team in it. That's a pretty negative vibe, and not something likely to add up to bonzer figures for your US season premiere, no matter how good the work actually is. However, the series starts to air on Sky, to excellent reviews, high levels of fan satisfaction, and correspondingly high viewing figures. New fan communities quickly spring up, episodes are uploaded and sent across the Atlantic, and positive word of mouth there rapidly spreads. Now, far from being the remake of a crummy 70's series, the TOS whiners have shrunk into the white noise, and BG has started to look like the best thing on US TV, before it's even aired! Lo and behold, the first three episodes get bumper viewing figures, and the same sort of reviews they got in the UK, and a continuation seems to be little other than a certainty. Now I know R&D posted that open letter on the Sci Fi BBS asking fans to be good and not download episodes early, but do you really think they meant it, or were they merely saying what a good Exec Producer is supposed to? As far as I can see everything that's happened has created the sort of momentum in the US market that could never have been achieved had the series aired in the UK and the US at the same time, and must have done their chances of an early pickup a huge favour. Sure, it would have been a bit of a gamble to plan this sort of thing up front, but RDM does keep saying how much he believed in the material...

It was a great show... but it could have been a super show.
The caprica story line ruined it for me really.
Starbuck flailed that gun around as if she never held one befor.
Helo... when watching this guy i thought, yup thats how a guy reacts when he finds out that his new found love is in fact a robot and is responsible for nuking my homeplanet.
And when said cylon(machine) tells me that she is pregnant i would immediately believe her, and protect her.
There is more about Caprica but ill be quiet, its not worth geting to worked up about, in short bad acting and bad writing.
The thing is, the rest of the show was absolutely brilliant, it ROCKED, it OWNED, and that makes it so frustrating.

Wow! Just saw it myself, and like Adama, I was blown away . And now I can finally read the board without worrying about spoilers (which I managed to avoid all season -yay!) I dunno what to say even...there's too much stuff to cover. Great episode, though...the music throughout was superb. Personally, I don't think Starbuck jumped to conclusions too fast; she's a sharp girl. Loved the cat-fight. Boomer's comment about her parents made me wonder if they haven't given the Cylons false childhood memories, a-la Blade Runner. Poor Chief & Crashdown...they got their work cut out for them...but on the bright side, at least Cally's down there with 'em. Dammit, hurry up next season!

Thanks for the ears. Here is the correction...
GAETA: A lot happened while you were gone. [Glances at Adama entering, then turns towards Racetrack...]Congrats.
RACETRACK: Thanks.
Racetrack is almost nowhere to be seen, but now I think that's who delivers that last thanks.

The two long ships leaving the basestar could be troop transports, so they could be full of updated chrome toaster troops preparing to search-n-destroy the humans from the crashed raptor. Others have suggested these ships were tankers. Could be that they can carry either kind of cargo.
