I reckon it was a lack of raptor pilots that was the problem. These guys are probably more skilled than viper pilots because ftl skills are needed.

He could have arranged for the nuke to be stuck? More likely to have been Boomer (her Cylon half). Any good pilot will make a pre-inspection of their bird. As such, she could have easily buggered the bomb release mechanism while "checking" it. All that would probably be needed is to replace a pin or something to prevent the release clamps operating....

That scene in the basestar reminded me of Aliens. Did anyone catch the large red eye that the raptor flew over? This certainly adds credence to a basestar being a model in its own right.

It's a model, same as the Raider and the Warrior and the Centurian. It's just not one of the "12 models", which is a reference to the humano-Cylons.

I think from what Six was saying, and Baltar was seeing that this is the moment he chooses to turn.
In essence he saw his future with Six, their child. And that child will be the first of the new Human-Cylon civilisation that Baltar will himself lead.
Boomer's cover is well and truly blown. Whatever happens now, Starbuck will reveal she's a Cylon when she returns. I hope Boomer #2 makes it back with Helo too, it'd make from some great storylines.

Totally agree!!!
As for the raptor debate, I think Galactica picked up a lot of strays after the cylon attack. The search for water could have been done in waves of five raptors, that way a second wave would help to create a continuous rotation to allow for refuelling and lack of downtime.

There is quite a lot of potential for this story. It would be rubbish to kill off either Helo or Boomer2 next season in some grandiose shootout outside the museum.

I am *categorically* NOT an expect of the original series, so can someone answer this for me:
Are the two long, narrow craft that depart the baseship as Boomer's Raptor move in anything like the Cylon tankers from TOS BSG?
If they are - another nod towards the original from Zoic?

I know everyone is rushing on a post-BSG high, but am I the only one who thinks it was a *bit* of an anti-climax? I mean it HAS to be continued for a second series, but if it isn't, it's a cr@p ending.. I agree. I thought it was a bit of an anti-climax. Granted, if you looked at the Gateworld pics the ending was completely ruined (although it was still startling to see her shoot so quickly), but I just thought there would be more to it. Another cylon introduction, anything.... With the ratings that SciFi is getting though, and all the great reviews, I think a second season is fairly in the bag. However, I'm sure the show would at least get a miniseries to wrap it up. Assuming it will be renewed, the last 3 episodes have created a huge story arc for the second season. With Col Tigh in charge this could make the Zarek subplot bigger. It's very hard to believe Tigh will be able to pull off the command alone. He was a great number 2, but Adama was always there to chill him out and make him see the bigger picture.....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!! No way! They can't leave it there! NOOOOOOO!!!!!! This is beyond unreasonable! Who's for forming a pitchfork army and heading off to sci-fi HQ to demand season two NOW?

Just for a few months it will be back either in summer or fall 2005. I am sure I do not need to tell you that it will be worth the wait. However, I do not think that they will show it in the UK frist hopefully they can show it at the same time. This depends on whether Sky believe the viewing figures justified the original financing deal. Given the relative positioning of BSG in their viewing charts, the indications are currently good. Even if they don't the chances are good that the UK will get the show ASAP after the US airings. Look at Sky's airing of Stargate SG-1. Thend to start a few months after the US, but because of the way shows are aired in in the US, we tend to catch up around mid-season (while the US is in a "rerun" period). So far as I'm aware, Sky is currently ahead of the US with SG-1 airings: we've had several "Exclusives" since the end of November last year.

Regarding Adama's condition, remember that Cally was also shot in the gut and also survived. Perhaps Colonial medicine will save him? Then again, Cally didn't get two bullet holes punctured her torso... I hope Ron Moore mastered the art of magic voodoo script writing that will plausibly keep him alive for the next season. And I really really hope they'll be able to keep Galactica Boomer as a major protagonist in the series with whatever voodoo magic they could do with the script. It really saddens me to see her battle against her Cylon instincts, yet succumb to them anyway. What about Boxey? Poor kid. Your dad gets raped while the space station he was on gets figuratively raped. Your mom gets figuratively raped by thermonuclear weapons. And finally, your hot Asian foster mom ends up being raped by other naked hot Asian clones of her which in turn traumatize her and brings her to shoot the commander of the... Whoa, that last sentence didn't come out right.

I think for Galactica Boomer to stay around, it will probably require Starbuck to somehow be delayed getting back to Galactica. Since she has the arrow though, you would think her using the arrow would be connected to the rescue on Kobol which should be the next new episode... Speaking of Boxey, it's too bad his scenes got cut from Kobol's Last Gleaming (at least according to Gateworld's pics). I wonder what that was about....

It was a good episode, but something of a letdown after the king of all episodes, episode 12. This was an action episode, with fights and situational developments up the wazoo. Episode 12 was more of a relationship episode. Omygod! It all makes sense now. You must be correct. Personally, I was confused by why Adama seemed to be acting so out of character with the sudden coup d'etat, and why Boomer "executed" Adama now, when she has had many opportunities before. Yes, it makes sense that Adama suspects that Roslin is a Cylon, and the Cylons don't like Adama messing with Roslin's power. By ordering Boomer to kill Adama, the Cylons can get rid of a troublesome rogue agent (Boomer herself) at the same time. It really seems like the Cylons were caught off guard here - not by the nuke but rather by the coup - and the Cylons panicked and perhaps overreacted. However, it does not follow that Roslin is a Cylon; she may simply be following the Cylons' wishes accidentally. Omygod! It all makes sense now. You must be correct. Personally, I was confused by why Adama seemed to be acting so out of character with the sudden coup d'etat, and why Boomer "executed" Adama now, when she has had many opportunities before. Commander Adama must be a Cylon, and Boomer has now fully broken her programming and she just did what she had to do. After all, nobody would have believed her if she had said "Adama is a Cylon." Hey, I just realized, Adama never did share the information on that slip of paper, "There are only 12 Cylon models." The question is not "Who shot W.A.?" but "Why?" Yes, Baltar did the crucifixion pose. Where the hell is Baltar now? Is he with a real Six or imaginary one? I guess he is probably still laying on the ground and is just "dreaming." Season 2, Episode 1, scene 1, Tyrol finds Baltar unconscious on the ground... TYROL: "Wake up! Snap out of it! We have to get out of here. Oh, and zip your fly!" Six asked Baltar to "see the face of things to come." I think it was intended to be Baltar-n-Six's future baby, not their current baby, nor Helo-n-Boomer's future baby. It makes sense that Starbuck would shoot Boomer quickly on Caprica. Though dazed, Starbuck's mind was still in a state of "fight," with all kinds of chemicals flowing through her brain, including that speed drug, adrenaline. This is what causes people to say, "it was like everything was moving in slow motion." Did Starbuck see Shelly Godfrey? If not, she must have seen pictures. So, then it would be easy for Starbuck to go from "painfully" realizing that another copy of Shelly is a Cylon to concluding that another copy of Boomer is a Cylon.
