I totally agree with you. What I love about this show is that there seems very little danger of 'alien romance of the week'. I can't see that *ever* happening on BSG! Damn straight! Besides, there don't seem to be any aliens around to do anything with...and I betcha if any do turn up they won't be the classic forehead types.

I am not always a shipper with shows I like (used to like Highlander and dindn't ship anyone there), but I do have several in BSG. Though if they go a different route with me, it's OK as long as it's well written: Baltar/6: Just because the more absorbed he is with her, the less chance there is he will actually reproduce with an actual female. And that's a good thing! I am also beginning to ship Helo/Boomer. Come on, it's just so...doomed. Which means ever more angst and that's good. Lee/Kara: eeee, my new ship of choice! And not just because it's fun to think of "Starbuck" and "Apollo" hooking up They have great chemistry and they are so fun together and it would be really great to watch. Plus, I think it's clear by the end of S1 that they have feelings for each other. ******spoilers***** Not just Kara's little reaction in her sex scene, but the way Lee completely ripped into her in Ep 12 because of the sex thingy. It didn't seem like just concern for a friend (if it was, I don't want my friends to be concerned for me, please). Just jealousy, pure and simple. He's certainly never been this put out before. Ever. And she's certainly done some bad things in the past. Not just some meaningess and not-wrong one night stand with a suitable candidate. And plus, the end of Ep 11. The look on his face when he sees her in that dress. Heee. I rest my case. *end spoilers***********

*looks around and guiltily waves hand in air* Guilty as charged! Which is very surprising for me as... I don't usually go in for this sort of thing! Last time I did was Ivanova/Marcus in Babylon 5. Which was too long ago.... I tend to 'react' to a strong emotional connection (or perceived connection) between two characters. Right now I'm seeing that between Lee/Kara (Colonial Day is perfect for this!) and to a lesser extent Adama and Rosslin. Apollo and Starbuck is going to be the full meal deal I'm thinking - angstorama if done well. The two characters have 'sparkage' between them, so I can see this happening. Not to mention that the whole brother's financee thing will make for good drama. Heck, churches have come into being on less! As for Adama/Rosslin - this would be pure UST. Just because they're old doesn't mean that they're incapable of love and what with Rosslin's 'illness' what's to stop her reaching out to someone? 'Lonliness of Command' and all of that. Trust me - you don't want to know about the bunnies that came to visit after 'Flesh and Bone'! I'm very strange but not even I'll touch them with a ten foot pole! Which is my way of saying 'Yes, I'm a slasher - what are you going to do about it?!' My 'main' stomping ground is SG-1 (there is some serious chemistry going on between Jack and Daniel - swear to the Lords of Kobol! ) but I agree with whomever said about the 'weirdness' of the SG-1 slashers... Oy Vey - I am soooo not looking forward to next week's episode 'Threads'. I love the series (almost as much as BSG) but the bitching really gets on my nerves! Ooops - sorry, you didn't need to know about that! Carry on!

I didn't notice this but i see he still wears it in the series. I find this strange given that he is divorced and Lee told him in the mini that his mum was getting remarried. Which brings me to the question - when did Adama get divorced? I have read conflicting character bios which say Adama got divorced shortly after Zak was eight or got divorced shortly after Zak was killed. Not a particularly interesting point i know....but i'm a sucker for pointless trivia.

Possibly it's a blip - EJO forgot to take his off by mistake before he went before the cameras or it was possibly intentional. He might be divorced but he hasn't 'moved' on yet. Note the picture of Mrs Adama and the boys as kids still on his desk (which one is which?! I think that the dark haired one must be Lee, I can see him being a cheeky monkey as a kid ;D) what reason does he have to keep it? Questions that need answering!

I'd say Adama wears his ring to remind him never to make the same mistake again or maybe you guys are right and he forgot to take his off. either way it makes interesting trivia............................ Lee looks like a cheeky scallywag all right id say adama had some craic raising him guns at dawn with all the wee girl that would have been chasing that little cutie....... did you all know that Jamie bamber is attending a convention in feb in london see www.wolfevents.co.uk for more information i was planning on going but can't now work and that......... I have recently read a cracking fan fic which deals with the triangle Adama/Laura/Lee You can read it at the following location tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/BSGShippers/ Believe me its well worth reading it will blow your socks off it did mine only sad thing is its not complete.....enjoy i sure did

I can't quite work out the whole Lee/Roslin attraction thing. I could specualte about many pairings but not these two. Maybe its just me but i have never thought there was any sexual attraction between these two characters. I think there is a bond of friendship and trust between the two which was established early on. I think this happened due to both characters being put into positions of leadership which obviously they weren't quite expecting or ready for so soon. So both can empathise with each other and for me this makes it one of the strongest friendships so far. Lee is also a principled young man - this came through in Bastille Day with his conversations with Zarek and (without going into spoilers) his actions in the final episode. I don't know if they will do this but i would like to see Lee reach a point where he seriously considers leaving the military and going into politics. However, the old man needs all the pilots available and Apollo is one of the best. What i don't see is any sexual attraction between Lee and Roslin and this in my opinion is confirmed in later episodes.... Prism (who needs to remember its only a tv show )

Erika - throwing caution to the wind and admitting to obssession with this show

My actual opinion is that there is too much actual sex going on in the series to worry about shipping. But hey, it's still a TV show. I can't quite work out the whole Lee/Roslin attraction thing. Prism (who needs to remember its only a tv show ) Yeah, Lee and Roslin just wouldn't make sense at all. She's so much older than him for one. And is going to die at some point in the series for another I think Baltar/Starbuck is doomed for reasons made apparent in the final 2 episodes of this season. Thus the Apollo/Starbuck relationship seems poised to have a lot of tension for a while. I mean, Starbuck already fell in love with one member of the Adama brothers, why not another one. Also, Lee very definitely seems to have a thing for Starbuck.

Hey y'all, sorry if I'm being obvious, but I tried reading all the thread just now and got a headache. Having read SJ's post right at the beginning of the thread, I kinda know what a shipper is, but would someone kindly tell me why the word is "shipper" and not something else entirely? Is it derived from relation ship, or is there some altogether more arcane explanation?

My actual opinion is that there is too much actual sex going on in the series to worry about shipping. But hey, it's still a TV show. Yeah, Lee and Roslin just wouldn't make sense at all. She's so much older than him for one. Hey, nothing wrong with an older woman I'll have you know! Given what's happened on the colonies, and the constant risk that accompanies them, I'm not sure that sort of thing would necessarily preclude a relationship, provided the people concerned felt so inclined. At end of day they could both be dead tomorrow, so living for the moment may be more the order of the day. The way Sackhoff played the character in the mini, it seemed as though she had fairly well developed feelings for him even then, although this is a thread the series didn't really pick up until KLG1, Well, again, he did in KLG1, but little concrete evidence of it earlier in the series. Still, he's had to cope with a lot during that time, not least her confession about pulling Zack through flightschool, so maybe whatever feelings he had have been suppressed for a while.

I thought he was just an uptight, frigid frakker. ;D
