I love the interaction between Adama and Roslin but i don't think they'll be calling each other Bill and Laura or exchanging phone numbers any time soon. ;D

I see what you mean. Having watched KLG part 2 I can confirm that you are 100%correct if you havnt seen it i won't say anything else but its brill..............
I think they will have these two characters get together onscreen i was reading interviews with Mary McDonnell and Ed Olmos online and they weren't having a problem with the whole idea. it would make for interesting viewing thats for sure i be glued to see who was going to kick the crap out of who first (how long till the first fight ) I doubt id have long to wait knowing how stubborn these two are it would be great even better than the whole janeway/chakotay thing mulder /scully even ................... wait and see what happens.........

I think "Captain Apollo" & the Pres. should hook up! She looks like she wants to rob the cradle! ;D Seriously, I don't think about 'shipping much, but since they "need to start having babies", some 'ships need to get going! Billy & Dee look like they're going to get together, if Billy can stop acting like a dork around women. I guess Lee & Kara are going to get busy. (Notice how I referred to them by their actual names & not their call signs? It still sounds WEIRD to say that APOLLO & STARBUCK are going to do the nasty, remembering the genders of the original two in BSG TOS!!) I was hoping that Baltar & Kara were going to get together, but seeing how she blew smoke right in Gaius' face I don't think she has the hots for him! Anybody think that Roslin will make a hook-up? Cmdr. Adama is too obvious, so maybe Col. Tigh is the man for her? Huh? That would be freaky, they get into a heated argument & then suddenly they grab each other & go at it! ;D He's on the rebound from his estranged wife & she is the lonely school teacher, .....  BTW, does anyone know if Laura Roslin was married before the Cylon attacks? She doesn't wear a wedding band & I have never heard her utter a word about her personal past! Anyone know? Later!  |

According to her bio she isn't. Appears to have led a quiet life looking after her mother.
Your suggestion of a Roslin/Tigh relationship is interesting. Think it could be every bit as explosive as her and Adama but i think Roslin could get the upper hand over Tigh. Whereas with Adama...well all's fair in love and war. ;D

First of all, i'm not a 'shipper. i don't care if a movie or tv series ever has a love interest, but inevitably, they always do. And since BSG TNS seems to have an abundance of love interests, and this is a board devoted to BSG, i might as well throw in my 2 cents. And it really is only 2 cents because i've got quotes: I'm a Kara/Gaius if only for the random tension-relieving sex opportunities.  Not much relationship potential there but could be fun on-screen. I don't like Kara/Lee because there's too much of the ick factor with the 'hmm, Zak used to like that too' thing. And also because they'd end up killing each other. Opposites attract but like forces detonate.;D i couldn't agree more. i think Baltar/Kara would be great because Six could join in without Kara ever knowing. Rosalin/Adama? Hmmmm... jury's out on that one. Could throw an interesting dimension to things but at the same time I don't really see the Old Man as the romancing sort. Might be better to leave things platonic. Nah...the jury's in and it's on. It's just going to take a little while because they're old.  There'll be a scandal when the fleet finds out that the President of the Colonies and the Commander of the Military are getting it on. Either he or her will have to step down, and then she'll tell him she's got cancer but they'll get married anyway because he's just that kind of guy, and then... i think Caprica-Boomer and Helo are going to get it on, too. Sorry to be so blunt, but the sex theme of BSG has been pretty overt so far; i'm just calling it like i see it.  (Notice how I referred to them by their actual names & not their call signs? First to Prism700 hello tighe/roslin your right she would chew him up and spit him up in all of five minutes he thinks he is tough but you have to remember his mrs has slept with half of the fleet and he the wimp still takes her back time and time again. No roslin would wear the trousers in that relationshiop and she'd get bored with that in no time.
to 13cylon Hello there you have a great sense of humour the whole original starbuck/apollo thing would put you off the whole idea all right kara/lee perfect together shes allready in love with him.........spoiler warning........ she gets together with gaius and calls out lee's name in the throws of passion talk about a spanner in the works nasty............... as to the lovely callie i think the chief would be good to her and he comes accross as a geniunly nice sort of guy i like him.....
as to the prez . the only man who would be able to handle laura's independant streak would be the commander and im not just saying that because im a roslin/adama shipper its true i am.......... lee would be half afraid of her though they would have great fun between the sheets then she would realize she wasnt challenged enough in the relationship and leave it.........
with commander adama laura would never be fully sure where she stands hes a moody sod.............. and in spoiler here kobols last gleaming part 2 youll see a prime example of how he can let his emotions run away with him................. she would be almost on egg shells around him he'd be a honking big challenge and there is nothing a school teacher likes more than a challenge i train people as part of my job im speaking from experience here................ yep a challenge and it would be interesting to see how they would play it have them tearing strips off each other in between love scenes oh yep id pay to watch good quality stuff like that. do you all remember dynasty the whole alexis / blake thing love /hate or jr/sueellen from dallas............. the love hate thing works and goes down a real treat on screen .....plus if you add to this the fact that the two of them have great onscreen chemistry and are not appossed to the idea well who am i to question fate serendipity rules

I disagree about Tigh & Roslin, they would be cool, & I don't think Tigh is a wimp, he is just one of those poor saps that was in love with the wrong person! He also seems like the gritty type at work, but when it comes to his personal affairs, he doesn't have the same gritty attitude & ends up being too soft. Late... |

I would think that there's enough ACTUAL sex on this show to stave off the "shipper" stuff (which strikes me as 1) being pretty much softcore emotional pr0n using tv characters, written by and for girlies)! ;D Ship is about relationships, not porn (or pr0n)It's about people's emotional response to others. It seems to me that what makes BSG diffrent from many shows is how we see the characters emotional response to their situation. Do you think Ron Moore would like you calling him a 'girlie' because he's certainly writing ship <g> |

I see what you mean about Tigh all right re-watched secrets and lies last night he is a softy off duty and he loves his wife to bits god bless his cotton socks. she doesnt deserve him at all. I hope he stays off the drink and meets a woman more suitable to him. Its possible that ron moore might throw a spanner in the works and have roslin and tigh have a thing you never know. I think he needs a woman who needs him im not being funny here but i do and laura doesn't and wouldn't probably allow herself to.
I suspect the good colonel sticks by his wife yes because he loves her but also because despite her indescretions she needs him and is in need of help so he sticks by her and some might say out of duty but the truth is he loves her to the point of blindness.
I can't see them pairing him up with laura I dont think it would work long term I think they would be better as friends.
At first I have to admit I didn't like Saul but he has grown on me over the course of the season and i now do like him.

It seems to me that what makes BSG diffrent from many shows is how we see the characters emotional response to their situation.
Agreed. So far BSG has handled this pretty well without going into 'soap' territory or 'lets blow everything up and forget characterisation' scenarios.
For the most part i feel the characters and stories have been handled maturely and that's what sets it apart for me.
I think its fun to speculate who is suited to who like Tigh and Roslin or Adama and Roslin etc. But for me if the writers decided to go down any of these routes then they had better make it plausible because i would stop watching if it wasn't handled in a realistic way. Thats what i hated about star trek. Captain Picard or Cmndr Riker (or any character) would meet an alien, fall in love and then say goodbye all in the space of an episode without any repercussions.
I don't want to get into spoiler territory for those who haven't seen the later episodes of bsg but it will be interesting to see how the writers deal with the repercussions of several characters actions.

Oh Yea certain characters took matters into their own hands and made mistakes in both parts of kobol's gleaming part one and two anyway.
im still hoping that the president finds a bit of romance before they kill her off. i agree that it has to be believeable what ever they do when they hook the characters up show it warts and all like it is in real life.
I would like to see el presidente with the commander i see them having a major row next season i mean a serious row if they can get past events of the recent 2 parter they'll be ok and maybe more but if not ill just have to write the fic.........................i can not wait to see season 2 bsg.......... season one rocked.........
someone mentioned something about riker/picard and romance of the week thing on star trek yep that bugged me as well big time hated that. they havnt gone doen that road with stargate or battlestar galactica yet..........(sg1 came close with sam and narim the token season 1 but saved themselves by having him in season 2 and back again in season 5). Babylon 5 never did that crap which im glad about that was another deliciously dark show loved that one................. anyway im waffling now. back to the discusison at hand........Adama/Roslin/Tighe/Apollo holy god sure laura could have a really buisy love life .......hell she could have all of them why not go Laura............. but then she'd be a slapper and roslin isn't that never could be she's a lady she'll just have to choose.........(my money is on Adama he's cute - showing me age here)....Although id be done for serious cradle snatching and so would Roslin Apollo hes a very lovely lad.........
As to the lovely Callie I still say the chief would be nice to her although helo is starting to grow on me so maybe he will take a shine to callie when he gets back to galactica (if he gets back im assuming he will at some stage - its not a spoiler).
Lee/kara she's in love with him thats plain but he doesnt appear to be such with her i believe he is attracted to her definitly but then he's attracted to the president as well could the the whole power thing. but a match made in heaven or hell depending on your view is gaius and six im afraid they will be stuck with each other unless he has brain surgery..........................
then you have billy and dee i like them in the show nice couple.....................
you all remember the president telling the commander that they "need to start having babies" well so far ive only heard of one born episode 33 so maybe next season on of the main cast will announce that they are going to be a parent.
I can't think of anything else to say but im sure i will anyone heard anything about season 2 yet ive heard nothing thus far and there is nothing on the net either ive been surfing................Slan everyone

I totally agree with you. What I love about this show is that there seems very little danger of 'alien romance of the week'. I can't see that *ever* happening on BSG! And I have faith that we'll see the various repercussions of all the complex relationships played out next season (*crosses fingers and hopes for a S2!*). For me, BSG stands out from the crowd because, not only does it have an awesome concept, but it plays its stories out in human drama rather than in epic space battles that might look good on screen but have very little real emotional impact. The story is about the people, and how they respond to the end of the world and the subsequent fight to survive - and I love that it's told so intimately, and that the interpersonal relationships between the characters has been used to such powerful effect so far. Judging by Season 1, we can rely on TPTB to give us an honest, emotional, powerful and rewarding show. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for most sci-fi out there. This is the show I have been waiting years for! I love it! Sal |
