I am reminded irresistably of a certain character from a certain American sitcom played by a certain person named Matt... Never really watched that much of said programme... but I heard the same voice too... spooooky! And thanks for the ratings advice as well. Always nice to know... especially if anyone gets an urge to post a certain Apollo picture from 'Colonial Day'

Pralines? Who has pralines? Oooooh! I LOVE pralines...but they don't love me. They make me fat(ter). Damn skippy! Just to think... if BSG was on tonight, I could have Whittards hot chocolate after my weightwatchers class But as it's not... it's just the hot chocolate... which is just... what rating does this board have btw!? Lets just say it's good stuff!

My hubster is properly insured , but he was also properly penitent, so I have granted a stay of execution. Good men are hard to find, especially those who can cook and do laundry, so I guess I'll keep him. Well, m'dear. Next time he does something that stupid, throw him over here. I'll have him if you don't. Just box him up and send him over frieght. Single and desperate - that's me Hopefully he has now learned his lesson, if not, a gentle whack around the head with a rolled up newspaper works just as well... or is that puppies?

So c'mon! 'Fess up - attitudes to Valentines day folks! Is it a holiday you look forward to or is it one that you loathe with a vengance? Not only that - did you get any Valentines or send any this year? Enquiring minds and all that! Me? Over here in the UK, it's very much a commercial festival that celebrates romantic love. Which as someone who's been single for five years I personally ABHOR with every fibre of my being. When I was with someone, we did get each other cards but that was about it. Nothing fancy... namely because I felt that love should be celebrated 365 days, not just one... and that my birthday was in 28 days time and I wanted more of a fuss made of me then ;D I think the Americans have the right idea, in that it celebrates love in all it's forms, romantic, friendship, family... all of it. So with that in mind, other than buying flowers as a gift for my mum yesterday (not that I needed an excuse - she's my mum fercryingoutloud! Mums need to be blessed and made a fuss of always!) and sending e-cards to some good friends... not a one! And I sure as hell doubt I'm going to get any neither! Roll on 2/15 or 15/2!

So, is this all a coincidence, or a totally deliberate, and very inspired marketing operation? Think you've just answered your own question there! I look at it this way... If it was rubbish, then Sky would show one series and word would make it across the pond (Lords of Kobol bless t'internet!) that it wasn't that good and Skiffy would shrug their shoulders and tell RDM to go back to the drawing board. As it stands... and what we all know to be true... Sky show season 1, the British go bugnuts for it, start jumping up and down declaring that this is really good sh*t, clog up BBS and 'major' news sites (c'mon... you mean to tell me that you didn't go read the reviews on AICN every Tuesday morning?! ) declaring that this is great TV... After all, this is the UK - they should know good stuff when they see it... what with Monty Python, the Office, Spaced, Doctor Who etc to their names. They usually sniff out good TV. Usually! Trust me - it works a lot in reverse too. Fer example, a couple of weeks back, you could barely move for hype about 'Desperate Housewives' with it being trumpeted as a 'U.S. smash hit TV show' so people got talking about it and ergo it became a hit. Somehow I doubt the Cylons could have done any better ;D

Or even better still, ask the family for it for your birthday! My birthday is March 12 but I don't mind if one of my lovely sisters buys it for me - hey, I can wait two weeks for my present. I'm not proud! I can see one small problem with this - trying to explain to my family which version I want. This is very difficult, trust me I know from bitter experience about this! Unfortunately, neither Amazon or Play.com do 'wedding list' services, where you can put on what you want and the purchasers pick out what they want to buy you. Or if they do, it's not idiot proof for my family! Bless 'em, I love 'em to death but when it comes to this sort of thing...

Eh? There may only be 13 episodes in the first season of BSG, but that's more a reflection of SFC's intial caution than anything else. It's a common tactic on US TV. As they say in Robocop 'I'll buy that for a dollar! ;D' but I'd rather have 13 cracking episodes than 20 odd with some duff ones thrown in for good measure *cough*SG-1itsgoodtobeking*cough! I know that's how Buffy started - but this was never intended as a midseason replacement as I know that Buffy was. From your fingers to God's ears! From the information that I have gleaned from front page and other 'reputable' sources *waves at ColonialOne* (stuff cut) *childish, whiney voice* but I wanna know! Don't want to wait, want sweeties NOW! (Yes, I was an annoying brat as a child... why do you ask! ) If there are more important things, I vote that they be taken out and shot this instant! ;D

But what's the relative cost of the three series? Is BSG significantly more expensive to produce than SG-1 or Atlantis? Remember - both SG-1 and Atlantis both have 20 episode seasons, while BSG only has 13. Regardless of cost, I would say that they both would work out evenly in the end. Not only that but BSG has something that the SG's don't have - funding from another source (at least for S1 - could this be the reason why S2 is taking so long to greenlight ) namely Murdoch's Sky Broadcasting Corp... aka the reason why the Brits saw it 3-4 months before everyone else ;D Like everyone else I'd like to know - just so I can stop shamelessly bumping the BSG thread on another board I'm on (helloooo Empireonline! )

Poor Dr Baltar . I think he is quite pleasing on the eyes (and no i don't have a visual impairment). Although i think i would get tired of asking "Are you with me?" all the time. Sorry - I keep looking at him and thinking... 'E's that doctor from Deep Sleep Nine!' (Sorry about that - I'm originally from London and have a terrible habit of dropping my aiches! ) and no I didn't find Dr Bashir attractive... which was weird! Marcus Cole from Babylon 5... now you're talking! ;D

I didn't notice this but i see he still wears it in the series. I find this strange given that he is divorced and Lee told him in the mini that his mum was getting remarried. Possibly it's a blip - EJO forgot to take his off by mistake before he went before the cameras or it was possibly intentional. He might be divorced but he hasn't 'moved' on yet. Note the picture of Mrs Adama and the boys as kids still on his desk (which one is which?! I think that the dark haired one must be Lee, I can see him being a cheeky monkey as a kid ;D) what reason does he have to keep it? Questions that need answering!

*looks around and guiltily waves hand in air* Guilty as charged! Which is very surprising for me as... I don't usually go in for this sort of thing! Last time I did was Ivanova/Marcus in Babylon 5. Which was too long ago.... I tend to 'react' to a strong emotional connection (or perceived connection) between two characters. Right now I'm seeing that between Lee/Kara (Colonial Day is perfect for this!) and to a lesser extent Adama and Rosslin. Apollo and Starbuck is going to be the full meal deal I'm thinking - angstorama if done well. The two characters have 'sparkage' between them, so I can see this happening. Not to mention that the whole brother's financee thing will make for good drama. Heck, churches have come into being on less! As for Adama/Rosslin - this would be pure UST. Just because they're old doesn't mean that they're incapable of love and what with Rosslin's 'illness' what's to stop her reaching out to someone? 'Lonliness of Command' and all of that. Trust me - you don't want to know about the bunnies that came to visit after 'Flesh and Bone'! I'm very strange but not even I'll touch them with a ten foot pole! Which is my way of saying 'Yes, I'm a slasher - what are you going to do about it?!' My 'main' stomping ground is SG-1 (there is some serious chemistry going on between Jack and Daniel - swear to the Lords of Kobol! ) but I agree with whomever said about the 'weirdness' of the SG-1 slashers... Oy Vey - I am soooo not looking forward to next week's episode 'Threads'. I love the series (almost as much as BSG) but the bitching really gets on my nerves! Ooops - sorry, you didn't need to know about that! Carry on!
