Basically I said that it was not terribly original (if it was it wouldn't be TOS), and that I'm waiting for the price of the complete series to drop down as low as the first season of Buffy.

1) You can't troll your own board. BTW - nobody was a troll over there. The rule against speaking negatively against the original series is clear-cut.

2) Your behavior on the BGC was reprehensible - it wasn't just your support of the TNS that caused your getting banned - it was the rest of your behavior that caused it.

I would like to remind everyone that there are always two sides to every issue. In this issue we, the members of the BGC, took exception to the way Mustex expressed himself on the other board.

Most everyone who actually knows me, knows that I am not, nor have I ever been, a troll. In fact, I am, 99% of the time fairly well behaved.

It's when people break the 'bash the original series' rule that I get bent out of shape on the BGC. I can tolerate a certain amount of talk about the TNC on the BGC board but not at the expense of the show that I have supported for ages.

You have a rule at your board that no one cannot bash TOS? Can they bash TNS, or is it just that TOS cannot be bashed.

Well, so much for discourse, while I am against outright bashing of both shows, each has its own inherent strengths and weaknesses and its own brand of storytelling. If one is to point out any shortcomings of a show, just who gets to decide what is or is not bashing, regardless of the eloquence of the prose.

As far as I know on this site the debate continues and it is well fought by both sides. It is your site and you may rule with an iron fist if you so desire, however, I doubt that I would last very long on your site. Which is too bad, because I love both TOS and TNS. However, I do not view either with blinders on, as I am also able to recognize that both are flawed in someway and in others they surpass each other.

I never spoke against the original series. If you think it's SUPPOSED to be original then you don't get it. TOS is like an epic poem, it draws on the collective unconscious.

Let's see I pointed out that TOS wasn't totally original. I asked if anyone knew where I could get a TNS viper uniform. I posted a polite rebuttal to a TNS flame. I asked about a TOS canon policy, and "War of the Gods." At this point I was moderated. I then made a post with the words "mixed opinion" in it. I should have said "balanced opinion," but I thought my meaning would be obvious. Instead Starship Trooper twisted my meaning to "I try to be fickle just to annoy you, and I hate TOS." At what point did I do anything wrong?

Meaning you don't like me because I defended TNS, and would stand for lies being told to bash it (for instance I'd think peak TOS ratings of 65 million would satisfy anyone, instead someone claimed 80 million because they couldn't sleep at night knowing TNS got higher than 5% of the ratings of the original).

I never bashed the original series. To be honest, however, sometimes people like you make me almost angry with it...then I watch it and remember that you in no way represent it (I've posted the long version of my anti-BSGC post before, but Xenu decided it was too offensive, and I don't blame him).

I consider people who cheer at the mention of TNS being downloaded on the internet causing ratings dives to be trolls.
