Couldn't wait. Got my copy tonight! Special note: Traditionalists might take a notion to throw the DVD's across the aisles of whereever they might find this, if they happen to look at it out of curiosity....because of a review quote at the beginning of the synopsis on the back. "Superior to the Original!" Of course, I do not believe it to be superior. Different, yes. Entertaining, yes. Superior, not no but HELL NO! But I also do not hold the Original series as superior to this either. In any case, I am now proud owner of the first copy of Battlestar Galactica Miniseries on DVD sold from Wal-Mart. (I may have paid a couple bucks extra than what I might have paid the following day...but it was worth it.) Very Happy I am curious to hear the commentary section. And finally, I have a version with a sharper picture and sound than my videotaped off TV version. WOO HOO! Very Happy I placed the two DVD's side by side (theatrical Saga of a Star World -TOS, and the mini)....no strange cosmic forces or rumblings took place...in fact, the two boxes seemed rather complimentary of each other. Respectfully, Martok2112

Huzzah, I say! Hope to pick up my copy later on in the week...I can't wait to hear the commentary, either.

I decided to play the inaugural run of this DVD in Commentary mode....since I've already seen the mini several times. The commentary thus far is very interesting. Ron and David and Michael occasionally address the controversies stirred up over the internet over some of the changes that were made. I haven't finished watching this yet because I need some sleep...but thus far...I am enjoying the commentary. Also glad that this has captions and subtitles. Now, if I just had a Dolby 5.1 unit to enjoy this on. SO SAY WE ALL!!! Martok2112

The whole Ragnar Anchorage sequence is better than superb in Dolby 5.1 surround sound (especially with the Sub Woofer turned up [my dog wasn't happy though, he ran for another room])
Poor Scruffy, but great entertainment.

Mine should be waiting for me when I get home! I cannot wait to see it on my big screen TV I have been watching on the 17" computer monitor for too long now.

Oh it's great on a 28 inch widescreen, so if you have bigger than that you'll be laughing.

(evil laugh). ;D It's a UK expression, and would be used in this way: "I've got the complete series one of TNS on DVD, a case of beer, a bottle of Jack, it's the weekend and the wife is taking the kids to see the in-laws for the entire weekend. I'm laughing!"

I need to get a bigger TV period. All I get to view my DVD on is a 5 inch Playstation 2 monitor.
At least I can throw on the headphones and get beautiful stereo sound from it....but that tiny screen. Oy!

Just received mine in the mail from amazon.com. It's so much brighter than what was shown on Sci-Fi. I'm a happy camper. Have a Great New Year, guys! KR

It can't be all that bad, you have a lovely island to live on, not that I've been there personally, but it looks lovely.

Of course, dispite this awful weather I think that I will stay. ;D

Oh, rub it in why don't you. It's freezing cold here in Ireland and it's raining. So much for living on an island.
