Seems that us Brits have missed out again, I dont think the one disc mini series dvd has any commentary...whats on disc 2? pf I have not watched it yet but on the back of the DVD it says also that it had the behind the scenes special Battlestar Galactica: The Lowdown can anyone confirm this? The Lowdown does not air until Jan. 14th on Sci-Fi or is this the Lowdown on the mini and not the series? This is from Amazon: Edition Details: • Region 1 (U.S. and Canada only. This DVD will probably NOT be viewable in other countries.) Read more about DVD formats. • Color, Closed-captioned, Widescreen, Dolby, Miniseries • Feature Commentary with Director Michael Rymer and Executive Producers David Eick and Ron Moore • Battlestar Galactica: The Lowdown • Deleted Scenes • ASIN: B00064AFBE

So now you've all had time to watch the DVD, what did you think (other than the all bright and shiney bit).
Did anyone have fun with Surround Sound?

Ok. I'm confused. I thought I ordered (1) Battlestar Galactica, baseship class starship. You mean its only a DVD?
Items shipped on December 28, 2004: Delivery estimate: January 1, 2005 - January 4, 2005 1 package via USPS
* 1 of: Battlestar Galactica (2003 Miniseries)
This is all very distressing. I was really counting on something baseship size so I could do some exploring in 2005. ;D

Its freakin' awesome, but I haven't had time for the commentary yet . I'm a commentary nut though, so I really bought it for that more than anything.

The region doesn't really matter just slip a friendly technician some $ and your dvd player will be able to play discs from all regions. The only thing is that amazon doesn't feliver to areas for which the product is not meant to be.
I tried to have it send to Hong Kong and the Netherlands but the site said that the disc was not available to addresses outside of North America.

So now you've all had time to watch the DVD, what did you think (other than the all bright and shiney bit). Did anyone have fun with Surround Sound? The surround sound is awesome!! I was a little dissapointed with the sound of the mini when it aired on TV - despite the fact that it was coming through some very nice speakers on my bigscreen. Two speakers just wasn't enough. But now that I've heard it in all its 5.1 surround glory on my JBLs, it totally rules! Fortunately, since the time of the mini airing, I've run my satellite through my receiver so that even normal T.V. comes through in Dolby Pro Logic surround. It's not 5.1 but it'll be better than stereo and still take advantage of the monster subwoofer. (We call it "buddy.")
