Quentin Tarantino would be great for my re-imagination of Galactica: Commander Garris Cain He is a military hardliner which give a frack on the safety of the civilians in the fleet. We don't like the civil government of Presdident Roslin and want really take revenge on th Cylons becuase they killed his wife. The new Cain is a little bit crazy. Some dialogues between Cain and Adama: Cain: "Why you taking orders from a school teacher ?" Adama: "The civilians need a civilian government. The military is under my command." Cain: "We are at war ! The military need the control over the hole fleet." Adama: " The President would never accept this" Cain: "Who said that she should accept that ?" Adama: "You would stage a coup ?" Cain: " Yes it's the only way to transfer the control of the civilian ships to the military." Or whats with that:Cain: " Now we have two Battlestars. I think we should strike back and kick their Cylon a** Adama: "The Galactica isn't fully operational" Cain: "Within a week we have ithe ship fully operational" Adama: "The Galactica was converted into a museum. We need a space-shipyard to make it fully operational." Cain: "The Pegasus have the best egineers. It take at least only a week." Adama: "You haven't a target that cause any big problems for the Cylons when we destroy it" Cain: " I have a excellent target. That will be the revenge for the 12 Colonies." Adama: "What's the target ?" Cain: " The Cylon Home-Planet. I know where it is. The Cylon Agent we have captured told us that." Adama: "You trust a Cylon ?" Cain: " We checked it on a reconaissance mission of our Raptors and it's true. We know the position of the Cylon Home-World." Adama: " You really want do that ? You are crazy. We can't take that risk that the fleet is without defence and we can't attack because two Battlestars have no chance against a unclear number of Cylon Basestars" Cain: "They don't expect a attack. That's advantage. They would be really surprised by two Colonial Battlestars over their Planet and before they can do something aginst our attack their Planet will be nuked by us." PS: Sorry for some defaults but english isn't my native language.

I would say the actor I would go for as Commander Cain would be .
Dirk Beneedict or Beau Bridges - I forgot which one looks like they're father Lloyd Bridges .
A devoted fan of EJO .

Having not long watched the episode i think it would be a laugh to have Richard Dean Anderson to play the part. He's leaving Stargate is he not? A two part episode would suit him.

Shatner would be fun, but what would make you think Denny Crane would want to return to sci-fi? Hell, he's finally gotten out of it ;D
Dirk Benedict would be a good sentimental choice, but mmm... I don't know.
Walken could be cool, but what happens when in the heat of battle, he asks for more cowbell?
Sam Elliot or Ed Harris, on the other hand, would be virtual slam dunks, IMHO!

I KNEW someone would beat me to it in suggesting Michael Ironside. He's the quintessential sci-fi actor and I love what he's been in - "V," "Totall Recall," "Starship Troopers." He'd be great as cain. But what about some other ideas? What if Moore brings the character back and perhaps makes Cain a far younger commander than Adama who's a little unsure about his own leadership? Maybe a James Spader-type? Or, what if Moore were to make Cain a woman? Perhaps an Angela Bassett-type?

He did Andromeda shortly after it spiraled down the drain into utter crud. I'm backing Dirk Benedict, it would be a great way to bring him back. Or, he could be Chameleon in a remake of "The Man with Nine Lives" and we could then bring in someone else as Cain. Hmmm...anyone think the guy who played Bojay could pull it off? ;D

I cannot see him as a regular or even a reoccurring character so this way the fans get to see him in a great role and he can go out in a blaze of glory!

I think Dirk would be perfect for this role also. Cain would have to very charismatic compared to the more pensive Adama, kind of like General Patton and Bradley if you catch my drift. Beau Bridges could pull this off just as well. Michael Ironside would portray someone too similar in character to Adama which woud ruin any much needed conflict to make a Pegasus episode work.

Just to add, Beau Bridges has played a lot of cocky over confident roles in his career and I'm sure he would love to emulate his father in his own way.

What about this:
Either the guy that played Capt. Sisko in DS9( I forget his name..Avery Brooks I think)
He might be easy to get and has I believed worked with moore before right?
Another person that I think would be a good Cain, might be Morgan Freeman. It's a stretch I know, but what if this version of Cain wasn't crazy like the original?
Freeman would be way too hard to get though.
