Kingy, I love the old show as much as you do, but I harbor no illusions about it; it was campy as heck even then, and unintentionally so. Some of this was, of course, due to bad circumstances, but a duck is a duck is a duck.... The new show I would stack right alongside The Sopranos , Deadwood, Law & Order, or any other top dramatic series, in every category....and I write for television, trust me, I'm more than ready to spot crap. This is quality drama. Having watched Sopranos, Deadwood, and Ronnie's Carnivale I wouldn't even count this show in the category of good. I am looking foward to Carnivale this Sunday however I am not looking forward to Nu Galactica.

Making Richard the Prez or even Vice Prez would bridge the gap between the 2 series by having him there but they would go on without him if they need to. The best way to bridge the gap would be use him as a writer (tie-in books, or episodes).

There will always be some that think Richard has sold out & will never embrace TNS- even if they get all TOS stars in it! That's just the way of life. KR There are also those who will complain that any continuation failed to capture the "spirit" of Galactica.

So don't watch it. BTW, there's a new thread over in the dead-horse beating section you might want to check out.

Hatch doesn't write the tos books. Universal assigns him a ghost writer. And you complain TNS is too cynical. I like to accept things like that until they're disproven, it makes it more fun. I accept that Brian Herbert found his father's notes, and my policy on Santa Claus it "I don't question the existance of anyone who leaves me presents. Heck, you can tell me Bingo the happy clown left them there, and I'll believe you so long as they're there, whether I'm about to go to college or not."

Do not trash the show on this forum, Kingfish. Go to the Remakes, Continuations & Gender Changes forum if you want to do that, OK? KR
