I've been doing some thinking, and I thought maybe a "re-imagined" Iblis arc. Scrap everything about him being a "being of light" or whatever, but make him a priest who now is preaching a "divergant" view on the Colonial religion - he can be sort of a "spiritual Zarek." Perhaps he claims that the Gods have said he is the only one who can lead the fleet to Earth, or maybe he'll begin preaching monotheism with the same goal in mind.

The only way for them to establish a real industrial base is if a mining/industrial fleet managed to escape the destruction. They can't build anything bigger than a viper or until they get their hands on large smelters and foundries (modern shipyards always have the foundries nearby). They might be able to build some habitation or cargo compartments to add to soem of the existing ships. But this will be limited and only go so far. Actually I did notice that a salvage yard is one of the exodus fleet and its spec if classified on the sci-fi website. This implies to me that it features heavily in one of the six already written scripts. There is also a scientific exploration vessel. No way would this be enough to build a battlestar but it would enable, just about, the recycling of some Mark II's. I reckon we will see an attempt at retrofitting some Mark VII's that goes horribly wrong. I also reckon and hope that we'll see some attempt at scavanging supplies. If we do have a 20 show season 2 (6 already written plus 14 new ones) then the show is going to have to open up somehow. both in locations and time-scale. This implies something based around the exploration ship, some attempt at reconnecting with other colonial survivors and some new locations.

The Season 2 Wishes Of Someone Who Has Currently Only Seen The Episodes Through "Six Degrees Of Seperation":
*I'd like to see Starbuck fly Vipers again! ;D
*Poor Helo deserves to be rescued somehow and rejoin the Fleet!
*I'd like to see them continue the storyline about training the new pilots.
*I figure by Season 2 they should do a storyline dealing with supply shortages (besides water). Among other things, by that point they're gonna be running low on food (unless they somehow have a way to grow their own?), Viper fuel, assorted spare parts, perhaps even certain medical supplies?

I'd like to see more of Lee Adama's story. How he continues to deal with the role of leadership that he never expected to assume at such a young age. I want to learn more about Kara's and Lee's relationship - there is a history there that seems more complicated than just that Lee was her fiancee's brother and that they are good friends. I don't necessarily want them to become a "couple" during this next season, but I do want their relationship explored further than the small hints that have popped up in the first season. There is a competativeness (professionally and personally) between them and yet they care deeply for each other. Oh yeah... I want to see more of Jamie Bamber - naked! ;D

Agreed. Personally, so far I think Apollo is doing a great job, considering how far from the position he was beforehand!
;D ;D ;D

I want to see the Cylon homeworld, and of course I want their plan to be revealed. I want to know more about their "God".

Call me crazy, but I wish for no Pegasus story.

I too would like to see more backstory of the characters, preferrably through flashbacks. ** Young Husker and Tigh (whatever his callsign was) in the 1st Cylon War ** Lee/Kara/Zak - who met who first, and just what was the deal with these 3? Why is Lee so familiar with the sight of Kara behind bars? ** The post-funeral blow-up between Adama and Apollo. Just what did Lee say that had his father still wincing about two years later?
For "present day" events, I'll leave the major plotlines to the fertile minds of RDM and his writers, but some little things I'd like see... ** Some interacton/rivalry between the pilots and the Marines. I hear this would be very much a realistic aspect of life on a naval vessel. ** Some sign of how Lee is coping with the death of his mother. So far he seems to have forgotten about her. ** Instances of "space sickness" cropping in the fleet. Let's face it, the civies out there never dreamed they'd be stuck, confined inside of tin cans in space for this long, with no end in sight. Surely, somebody would start going schizo before much longer.
And last but far from least... ** Get Lee back into a towel ASAP. Out of it would be okay too.

The fleet picks up readings of a distant debris field...a raptor scouting ahead confirms what Adama and co. could only dream of - the shattered remnants of several Cylon base ships with Raider fragments scattered throughout the system (a la Wolf 359!). The battle must have been weeks ago but still...
Enough to give our boys a bit of hope!

Wishes for season 2:
1) An episode dealing with an Epidemic within the fleet. I think that fact that people are packed onto the ships like cattle, and the idea of virus, or disease spreading would be an interesting concept to be explored, especially with limited man power, resources, and places to put the sick. It'd be a very interesting story... when all the other subplots are weaved in... I think it would make a great episode.
2) I'd like to see the gov/galactica, start having to deal with secular matters, such as education, in an episode centered around Boxy (however it's spelled)
just a couple of thoughts.... I love the action and the main subplots on the show... but I really like seeing how they deal with 'real' problems that an exiled space fleet would have to deal with

I know in a couple episodes of the original they tried to highlight the food shortages and the cramped conditions of some of the other ships. Unfortunately, the writers didn't deal with it very well and it was quickly forgotten about. I would like for the writers to deal with issues of housing and education in a more realistic way. These are issues that Roslin would need to be tackling if she wants to get re-elected in six months time. A viral outbreak would be another good one providing they don't have poor Cottle trying to find a miracle cure in 48 hours before the crew all die a la Star Trek! Again if it is dealt with realistically the consequences could be dire given the limited resources. Compulsive viewing me thinks

I don't know about the epidemic because everyone seems to be dying. With all the violent outbreaks that keep happening and the ones killed in battle, pretty soon there won't be any humans left at all. I want to see more activites on the other ships. In TOS you got to see a lot of people on the ships, I wan't to see that in TNS. Oh, and more Six, please.

I'd like to see that the Cylon technology was used by the Kobolians and that it originated from from a reptile civilization that the Kobolians fought a war with.

The battle must have been weeks ago but still... Enough to give our boys a bit of hope! Tato, this is actually very close to a storyline that I'd like to see. Only in my version, Lee and Kara are out on a long range patrol and come across the debris field and find what appears to be the remants of a cylon baseship (TOS model) and a good sized chunk of a hugh ship that has colonial markings but that neither of them can identify. They takes video pictures (or something) and return to Galactica. When Lee shows the pictures to Tigh and his father, they realize that it is an old battlestar, a model that was designed about 100 years ago (again, TOS model). They decide to go back and see if they can find a name to it and Lee and Kara do a fly through of what was a hanger deck and find a large amount of Mark II vipers sitting in the hanger bays. They also find the name of the ship (name it whatever). Adamas remembers that that ship was due to be decommissioned about the same time Galactica was commissioned. It disappeared on its way back to the colonies and no one ever knew what happened to it. They mount a salvage operation with the viper pilots bringing the vipers off the destroyed ship to the Galactica (thus, renewing their fleet of fighters) and some equipment for the Galactica.
