I've been rewatching the mini...I think there's a few good foreshadowing items in it. I suggest people re-watch.
The funny thing was when Gaeta says they're in an orbit around Ragnar Anchorage, and the first thought that went through my head was "they're orbiting that fan forum?"
Hehe.

My high school typing teacher was named "Mrs. Frack"
Needless to say, whenever we had to do typing exercises, I'd needlessly use Starbuck or Galactica related themes. hehe. She never did get that, but she was about 60, so it wasn't surprising.
After she passed away, whenever someone said "frack" I always would accuse them of taking Mrs. Frack's name in vain.
Hehe. But boy, she taught me how to type.

I watched them they were on sci-fi channel once in a while. I actually was surprised that for all the cheese (and yes, there was some) there was also a lot of sophistication at times. (I think the minor characters like Cassiopiea who started off as a prostitute and ended up a nurse was kinda cool, for example).
But mostly, I think that some of TOS plots could be placed in a TV cop show, and work just as well. (like the Caribdys episode).

Ahrhghgh, maybe the website that hosts it doesn't allow remote linking...it's odd that the links and the pics work fine on my computer, though. Anyway, I'll try hosting it in my webspace...bleah. It's an action figure of the Imperious Leader from the original series. We only saw him a couple times. He was voiced by Patrick McNee (also Count Iblis and the guy who did the opening monologue in TOS "There are those who believe...etc"

Well, maybe Count Iblis found them, hehe.
Patrick McNee *is* still alive.

Hehe, well, that interview with Moore seems to kinda confirm some of our guesses.
My main wish, is that we don't end up with a Matrix-esque "explanation" of things. That is...finding the old man in the room with all the televisions...
If the series ends with Adama dropping dead and a giant cylon head saying "Peace" with his last breath, I'll never forgive Ronald D. Moore.
But seriously, I think it certainly adds a lot of depth to a genre that often gets wrapped up in its action scenes. The best written Sci-Fi IMO doesn't leave out God. It's interesting that early Sci-Fi (like the pulps) weren't as gun-shy about religion, but the majority of sci-fi in the written form (I'm thinking stuff published in F&SF for example) is pretty atheistic, or merely uses religion as the opponents of science. Moore hasn't dismissed religion, he's wholly embraced it, and I think that can only make the series good.

I'm in the US and I'm downloading the eps the same day they air (because of the time dfference, I can watch them before I go to bed that night)
That said, I'm still going to watch the show when it airs here simply because with the PAL to NTSC conversion, the shows are slightly faster and the voices are pitched slightly higher. It's kinda annoying at times.
I just re-watched the mini series again (which was sourced from Sci Fi channel) and the voices were "normal" and it made a definite difference.
So I'll watch them all again when they air. I hope all the other downloaders will do the same. Even though it aired first on Sky One, there is still US money tied into the production, and I'm sure they're going to be very irritated if nobody watches the thing over here.
