Our local WHL Team, the Winterhawks has been consistently entertaining for 20+years. The lockout allowed us to keep Braydon Coburn (first rounder by Atlanta) another year, which was a small silver lining. I actually prefer juniors to the NHL for the most part, but the last Winter Olympics was pretty entertaining, and I hope the NHL decides to elmininate the red line. It would make the game a whole lot more interesting. Even though I think the players' union is in the wrong overall, there's no doubt in my mind that Gary Bettman has run the league into the ground. (particuarly with Expansion) The NFL is the most profitable pro league, and they not only have a salary cap, but they have near parity. Any team can beat any other team at any given time. Spass

My mom drank a whole bunch of vodka, smoked four packs and woke up the next morning (well the next afternoon) and never smoked again.

What a funny thread.
I've always thought of Scientology as the "Amway of religions" I was going to say "Amway of cults" but that's redundant.
If you think about it, its a pyramid scheme and the only way to advance to the next level is to buy all the books and materials and machinery. The movie stars like it because it's a "religion" that values money, so they can literally buy "salvation"
The fact that the USA gave them tax exemption is really really a joke, but hey. At least the Germans know the score, despite how many petitions the Hollywood types sign.
The other thing that's funny is their use of "religious technology" My favorite is the electricity zapper that you do periodically, which costs a lot (I seem to remember it was in the thousands of dollars, mentioned on 60mins or Nightline or something). It's supposed to align your molecules or somesuch.

Did anyone notice that USA is re-running BSG at night? I happened to spot Water being shown a couple nights ago.
For those who miss an episode, it's a good chance to see it again.

YOu know, I wonder whether they made the US versions different or "uncut" as it were, or replaced scenes that were originally on the cutting room floor just to make all the peple who downloaded have a reason to watch it on Sci-Fi.
It's sorta the reverse of Japanese CD imports, which usually have extra tracks.

What this means, is that Baltar is impotent.

Okay...my two-cents worth: Ernie, those long ships DID immediately make me think of tankers. I think the other sharons let her leave and didn't disable the nuke BECAUSE they were willing to sacrifice a basestar in order for her to do her mission and whack Adama. That kinda shows how important the plan is. After she did the deed, did you notice they stayed on her face, and there was the change in her eyes...that is, she seemed to suddenly be aware of what she had just done? Finally...did you guys notice the visible crew-member in the shot when Starbuck shoots the glass around the arrow? Kinda funny ;D Spass

I wonder if they shot two endings...one if the series wasn't picked up, and one if the series *was* picked up.
Makes sense.

I don't think this qualifies as spoilers, since you shouldn't be reading this thread if you haven't seen part 1.
Anyway,
Did anyone notice the change that comes over Baltar when he's helping Boomer with her decision, and comforting her, in a way that seemed rather un-Baltar-esque. (he seemed genuinely concerned for her, despite knowing she's a cylon). The look on Sixxx's face when he tells her to follow her heart was very significant, I think.
Any comments on that scene?

Hey, did anyone catch the line they stole from Patton? Tom Zarek says it :
"I shaved very close this morning in anticipation of getting smacked by you"
Cracked me up.

I don't quite understand the rancor...agreed that Wallace Gray coming out of nowhere was kinda dumb (and the radio program setup was cheesy too), but all of the rest of the intrigue is very effective. Zarek's two-facedness is brilliantly played for one, and also you can almost feel the nasty side bubbling around in there.
Heck, by mentioning Valens at all, he was as much as admitting that he had arranged for Valens to bring in the gun to kill Roslin.
This was a setup episode, obviously, but I still think they made it interesting. I don't think Batlar becoming VP was telegraphed at all. It didn't occur to me until the shot of Roslin listening to his press conference. Usually I incur the wrath of my wife because I can guess the endings to movies. (The Village was one...about 5 minutes after the credits I was like....you know, I'll bet....) Hehe.

It's on PAX, but I think it's syndicated.
Brice Boxleitner has a bangs, it's kinda disturbing.

Well, he's playing an evil Cardinal on the new show Young Blades, with Bruce Boxleitner and SHeena Easton. It's about a woman who dresses like a man so she can join the musketeer academy.
Uh huh..

ha ha, Jennifer Garner-Affleck? Of course she has nerve damage right now. (and maybe brain damage if she's with the ex Mr. J-lo, but that's another story).
Of course...she's way too big to do Galactica anyway.
