I was the same way, I started out with an original character, a Colonel, but it was necessary to play off actions from some of the main characters. As long as the player can play a main character as closely as possible to the mini, and now the series, it’s cool with me. Then again, I have to cringe sometimes at some of the actions or style some characters are played both original and main featured.

I respect the BSG writers and what they have done with the characters in the Series, and I want players who do play them to embrace and be true to those characters personalities. It would be a lot easier to play an original character at this point, because the series finale.... Wow... left a lot of open ends. I am currently playing Six and Baltar, and if I could trust someone to play them true to character, I would give them up... maybe not Six. I like Six ;D. Its like fanfiction writtern after the Mini-series, the ones I have read never came close to the series to what had happen in the first season.

There are plenty of original characters in the RPG now, and more are welcome to play. It’s a game, it going to be an alternative universe until... Season two starts.

They have a plan.

I have no interest in a game that allows characters from the series to be played. Sounds like a flame war waiting to happen.

other: Starbuck wouldn't _____!"

Ya know they're not all like man, but I'm not going to debate. My only lack of interest in the BSG RPG site is because of the use of series characters, however I do believe that with the RIGHT people diceless RPs are very viable. They just require firm rules and dedication to realism.
