The downloadable copy of the UK "Bastille Day" is 41 minutes, roughly a minute shorter than you'd expect. Noticeable differenceces between the UK and the US is that Boxey and Starbuck take a longer time walking to the Ready Room. Boxey lights Starbuck's cigar. And finally Starbuck's "Hot date with your right hand comment" to the late lamented Flat Top.
I guess my question is this. Are these scenes in the very first "unedited" broadcast of "Bastille Day" in the UK? If you taped this off your VCR, you'd be able to confirm this easily.

It would be helpful to hear from a UK viewer that has seen the same footage as the US airing.
Also, there are a few versions of the ep available for download, can we get a list of them? Avi and Mpg, and a few different codecs.
Since skiffy swears the content was the same, was this just an accidental deletion by those that ripped the ep?

These additional scenes/dialogue were not in the "premiere" UK showing.
General consensus on this is that they were cut because references to sex and smoking violate the 9pm watershed. Sky only started repeating episodes at 10pm after Christmas (and indeed only started showings at 5pm and 6pm then too.) Previously all showings, on Sky 1 or Sky Mix were at 8pm or 7pm.
So, looks like there were edits in the UK.
Additional confusion is generated because various stills show scenes in episodes that were not aired - but I believe these to be edits made for time, not content.
At least one episode after Christmas was edited for the 5pm re-showing (sex and violence cuts); not yet clear if the 10pm repeats included material not shown in the 8pm premiere (eg material presumably to be included in the US airing.) We'd need someone who taped the 10pm repeat to tell.
Hope this helps.

Is there a line added onto the end of 'Bastille Day'? The one where Roslin says "You're Capt. Apollo."
Did he reply? Something along the lines of retiring early? I don't recall watching that in the UK ep.

Yeah, you'd think something like that might get noticed. Also, apparently Boomer has about twice the normal amount of vertabra, she should get that checked out Personally, I think the glowy-spine thing is pretty stupid, it doesn't fit in the show, and it's looks like they have a angry millipeid in their back

According to sci-fi.com one of the deleted scenes was shown in the UK version

Whoops! I forgot about those. (Those deleted scenes are really the only reason that I keep Sci-Fi on my web-favorites list! ). I'll wander over now & check them out... I'm back. Nice to see 'em, but I'm not surprised they cut 'em.

I'm suprised they cut the one of boomer and Baltar, that bit was hilarious in context

In the UK version, the end of the Kara/Baltar lab scene is marked by a large BSG75 emblem. In the American version, Six makes a comment about Baltar being right about how interesting Kara is. I tend to think this line disproves once and for all that Starbuck is a Cylon while advancing the curious Cylon fascination with her. I'm amazed that it was cut but it was in the UK one.

The scene was cut because Six was still bent over the table with her dress hiked up and her no undies. No nudity is shown but it is obvious why she is in that position.

Presumably the UK theme would be an extra on the DVDs, even if it's just one sample and not the "creditless opening" like they put on some anime DVDs (think Vandread).

I don't see how you make that conclusion, that Starbuck is not a Cylon, based on Six saying how interesting she is. I believe that Helo is a sleeper Cylon who thinks he is a human, and the Cylons have been studying him. (Or that one of the Caprica Sharons is a sleeper Cylon who thinks she is human, and the Cylons have been studying her. Or both.) Starbuck could be interesting for the same reason: she's a Cylon who thinks she is human. (There are not many such beings, after all!) The Cylons believe that if they forget who they are, they will become human, and get closer to God.
Six: "She acts like one of them. She thinks like them. She is one of them." Doral: "But she's one of us. It would be best to remember that."
