This is really good news for Sci-fi and the fans of the new BSG!

I found this on another site concerning Sci-fi ratings -

"The Sci-Fi Channel... Like all other cable networks, a relatively low ratings number (like the 1.8 received by the Season Six premiere [of another Sci-fi show]) can be quite a success. Sci-Fi's top-rated series usually receive ratings between 1.0 and 2.0; and Lifetime, currently the highest-rated cable network, only rarely breaks the 4.0 mark."

So there isn't anyway this new can be painted as anything but good.

BSG might be getting "Monk"-ed this summer by NBC, too. Use Season 1 as a Summer replacement series like they do with Tony Shaloub's USA Network show.

Well, it has already begun. Apparently, Universal/Sci-Fi Channel's "Stealth Marketers"-(ASS HOLES) don't even take a break on a national holiday. Making their rounds on www.Stallioncornell.com/board, www.Cylon.org, and the Sci-Fi Channel's "Galactica" board, the "Universal Executive Shit Heads" are bragging about how Ron Moore's CRAPPY ASS SERIES pulled in something like a 3.3 on premiere night. Even if this rating were accurate and truthful, IT STILL SUCKS!!! How much does it SUCK? If this rating were achieved on any other cable network, or even on a local affiliate station, Ron Moore's CRAPPY ASS SERIES would be GETTING CANCELLED right now.

But, your Koenigrules; your Stallion_Cornells, your STEALTH MARKETERS, your PERSONAL FRIENDS of Ronald D. Moore ALL have to do something over the Internet to give the IMPRESSION that Ronald D. Moore's CRAP FEST is doing better than what it actually is. After all, since Sci-Fi Channel is run by the same BITCH who also ran the "World Wrestling Federation", and she DOESN'T KNOW A DAMN THING about televised Science Fiction (I'm talking about Bonnie Hammer for the uninitiated); Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel and all of their ON-LINE TROLLS have an OBLIGATION to Bonnie Hammer to try and keep her EMPLOYED by LYING THEIR ASSES OFF.

Of course, I just described a "Best Case Scenario" if indeed Ron Moore's CRAP FEST got a 3.3 rating. Now, LETS COME DOWN TO REALITY and admit what rating Ron Moore's CRAP FEST most likely got. Anywhere from a 1.0 (if they're lucky), to a 1.5 (if they're really lucky).

It's safe to say that at this point in time, the SATURATION PUBLICITY MACHINE for Ron Moore's CRAP FEST has FAILED. All of the "STEALTH MARKETING TROLLS" employed by Universal Studios/Sci-Fi Channel HAVE FAILED at TRYING TO HOLD THE PUBLIC AT GUN POINT in order to TRY AND FORCE THEM to watch Ronald D. Moore's CRAP FEST. Even the more DISGUSTING forms of SATURATION PUBLICITY HAVE FAILED. From Universal executives PEDDLING IN SHOPPING MALLS, to Bonnie Hammer ACTUALLY HAVING THE NERVE (after all of the DAMAGE she has inflicted) to make PUBLIC APPEARANCES at conventions.

Ronald D. Moore's BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Premieres to Record Ratings for Sci-Fi

Former STAR TREK writer/producer Ronald D. Moore has reason to celebrate, as his new Sci-Fi Channel series BATTLESTAR GALACTICA set ratings records for the cable network with its Friday premiere.

According to a press release circulated by the network, BSG was watched by 3.1 million viewers and becomes the highest-rated January program ever on Sci-Fi. BSG's premiere is second only to the network's summer 2004 premiere of STARGATE: ATLANTIS. With a 2.6 household rating, BSG delivered #1 performances among cable networks on Friday in several demographic categories, including M25-54, M18-49 and M18-34.

The PR goes on to compare the show to Friday's first-run presentation of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE: "BATTLESTAR won a decisive victory over UPN's ENTERPRISE, outperforming its new episode in total viewers, P25-54 (2.2 million vs. 1.7 million) and P18-49 (1.8 million vs. 1.5 million)."

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA continues its season on the Sci-Fi Channel, Fridays at 10p following STARGATE: SG-1 and STARGATE: ATLANTIS

As I said Xenu,
the nay-sayers can say it's all gloom & doom for TNS, but we know differently.
It's best to ignore such people. You cannot convince them otherwise.
When this show goes 5 seasons, they will still be saying it was not a ratings winner on Sci-Fi.
Such folks wouldn't know what happened if an 18 wheeler crushed their arse!
So let's celebrate in the good news.
And if February 1st is the go date, all we really need are two more weeks of really high ratings.
And I think the fans can do that, especially with two other favorites coming back- the Stargate duo.
Poor Enterprise. Oh well, BSG is clearly the superior of the two shows.

Galactica Scores Big Ratings

The two-hour Jan. 14 premiere of SCI FI Channel's original series Battlestar Galactica was the number-one cable program on that date in key demographics and ranked as the highest-rated January show in the network's history. Galactica ranked first among adults aged 25-54 and 18-49 and men aged 25-54, 18-49 and 18-34. The show earned a 2.6 household rating (3.1 million viewers), ranking second among all cable programs.

Galactica was also SCI FI's highest-rated first-quarter series telecast ever and its second highest-rated series telecast ever, behind only Stargate Atlantis' series premiere in summer 2004.

Galactica delivered 2.2 million viewers aged 25-54 and 1.9 million among those aged 18-49. The show won a decisive victory over UPN's Star Trek: Enterprise, outperforming its new episode in total viewers, among adults 25-54 (2.2 million vs. 1.7 million) and 18-49 (1.9 million vs. 1.5 million). Among men 25-54, Galactica delivered 1.5 million viewers, beating 16 of the top 20 programs on the six broadcast networks, including CSI: Miami, JAG and Fox's premiere of Jonny Zero.

Battlestar Galactica moves to its regular timeslot on Jan. 21, joining SCI FI's Friday-night lineup of original programming, "SCI FI Fridays." Galactica will air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following Stargate SG-1 at 8p.m. and Stargate Atlantis at 9 p.m.
