Oh, the podcast is available for those of you wanting to listen to Moore's thought on this episode while watching the show.

Wow... This ep is good, even after reading few spoiler myself, that ep is so good that I forgot about spoiler and actually thought they failed before secret vipers were released from the hidden place in the decoy ship. I guess I was so drawn into the story, like part of story I guess. But nonetheless it was nice to root for Lee. I liked when Starbuck suddenly hug the President then step back realized she shouldnt have done that but President hug her back nonetheless. That was a neat scene. Baltar? Well he's weird...but I still can never be sure if Six is evil or good, after all she follow God who loves everyone. I guess that will cause us to guess until it is revealed.

So it was Minstrel Boy? I have the Black Hawk Down soundtrack, which I oddly listen to while writing, I couldn't tell...

Wow, what a great episode!!! This is going up there as one of my favortites so far! So much great stuff I don't even know where to start: I loved seeing Apollo show off his skills, and I loved seeing the budding father/son relationship between Adama and Apollo. I liked the list that Starbuck was going over with the trainees--particularly the inclusion of item #5 ("Pray") on the official list she was showing them! I also liked to see the very real consequences of sending pilots with only a few weeks of training into combat...they were all undertrained and inexpirenced, and no doubt scared as hell, but they did their part...and many of them died for it. Very sobering, as was the scenes near the beggining of the episode where Tigh tells Roslin that taking the tylium is going to cost them a great deal, and Apollo kind of gulps and looks so sad/resolved/resigned all at the same time--he, just like we the audience, knew exactly what group of people were going to be paying most of that price-- his people. The way Tyrol and his crew were just waiting there solemly, no doubt wondering how many of the pilots would come back. The Vipers hiding in the packing crates was great too...and for a wonderful finale, the party in the hanger bay!!! I liked seeing the Adama/Starbuck scenes as well once the attack began--he's definitly grooming her for something "bigger", he msut see something in her beyond the wild, undisciplined pilot. That said, I do hope that, please, in the next season at least, can we see Starbuck get back in the cockpit again???

I love the "realism" of the series, how they carry things over from one episode to the next. Like in Bastille Day when Apollo got beat up, he still had scratches on his face in the next episode. How Kara's recovery is taking a while just like it does in real-life. In the original series things would happen that "magically" took care of themselves, or we never heard about them again! It's like they always had to tidy things up for a nice little ending-which doesn't happen in real-life often.

I feel like these are real people & not just actors.

I know, these characters feel so real. The characters in TOS were very one-dimensional. Apollo=hero, Starbuck=funny sidekick. But in TNS, the characters are very realistic and have many dimensions. You actually care for them (or hate them in the case of Ellen Tigh)...

Outstanding episode. How did an hour go by so quickly? This series doesn't waste dialog or scenes.

I only saw half of the episode. I managed to catch some of the Viper action which was excellent. Looks like Hotdog will be an ace in no time.

Great effects, great acting (as usual) and the greatest fun yet in the series. This is my second most favorite next to KLG pt 2 or epi 13. ;D

5/5
Great episode. It resolves alot of buildup. Also Moore wasn't too weak-kneed about killing people. I almost cheered when Hotdog died. It's not that I don't like him, just that I hope this is building up to a more important character dieing.

Excellent episode! 5/5! Great to see more viper/raider action! ;D All of my favorite scenes have already been mentioned, but my definite favorite was when it was revealed that one of the cargo ships had reserve vipers on it. The scene of the cargo ship opening with vipers clinging to its inside was the best "YEAH!!" scene since seeing "Starbuck" written on the underneath of the raider in "You Can't Go Home Again". The look of realization on Roslin's face when Adama says, "Some habits are hard to break" was classic. That said, my only complaint so far is that the main story arcs are wrapping up too soon (as in a single episode). In "Water", it was said over and over again that it was going to be extremely difficult to find water. Then, BAM!, they find water a few hours later. In this one, it is stated how difficult it will be to find fuel, then BAM! again, they find it, albeit with cylon raiders guarding it. Maybe if it does go to 20 episodes next season, some of these main arcs could be explored more.

Had to give it a 4/5 and not a whole 5 because of the atrocious music during the victory celebration. Atmospheric music works well with this series-- that other stuff does not. I get chills when I hear that bell thingie in 9/8. Hell, they should have called up Genesis and asked 'em if they could steal those chords from "Apocolypse in 9/8" where Pete sings, "666 is no longer alone; He's getting out the marrow in your back bone." I think it would go well with that bell thingie.
Other than that, I thought it was a bad assed episode.

Hotdog didn't die in the episode. As a matter of fact the last scene with strike one, when they were ordered to turn around and re-engage, Hotdog is seen blasting one of the Raiders to bits and pieces.
I loved the episode. Great acting and great scenes. Simply great sci fi.
