Generally good, but can I also say I was happy to see that not only was Crashdown in it, but he has a woman! XD ... of course, I fear this remark will go unnoticed in light of all the more important discussion about the episode. *lesigh* Crash, worrying as it sounds, the instant the Raptor scene came on my very first thought was how happy you'd be. ;D Although on a (side) issue, I a)was glad to see Apollo finally getting some air time, b)am starting to find Rosalin irresistably cuddly to the point of envying Starbuck and c)ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS EPISODE!!!!!

How quickly did crashdown dump boomer when the woman came along! Felt sorry for Boomer even if she is a robot. Talk about a woman scorned, dont mess with a cylon!

Yes i'm finding Rosalin a bit more interesting than I should, seeing as she is so mummsy – anyway eadipus has left the building.
I was thinking about Monday's amazing installment (Death Star comparison's not withstanding) and it posed a few questions.
Is the Caprica Boomer a little bit preggers?
Will it be a boy, a girl or a toaster?
Are the Cylon's gonna self destruct or lose their genocidal tendencies 'cos of their interest in love, the human condition etc?
With the Cylons breaking their programming are we gonna see a Cylon 5th Column, turncoats or Cylon sympatheisers?
If so, is Baltar's dream Six one of them?

I think the cylons main plan now is to get the humans to Kobol. They have engineered it so that the prophecy can come true. With the millions of people that were killed compared to how many are left there are an awful lot of cylons on the fleeing ships. I dont think this is a coincidence. That why it was in the cylons interest for the humans to get the fuel, they need to have them to Kobol. This is why they talk about it happening again as it has happened before and will happen again, I dont think they are time travellers I think they want to make it happen. Maybe this is the only way that they feel they can truly take over from the humans. Is the propecy that they talked about from the old series and is it written down somewhere or is it a new theme?

The "Cylon occupied Canada" thread is boring me. Just imagine if it was innovative like the Galactica side of the story. As it is, they run and they run. Maybe two "people" plus one blonde and some chrome toasters is not enough for a story. Caprica Boomer's puking (and what it may signify) is the most exciting development, but still. Helo observed that there are no other people, yes, and I observe that there are no *bodies*. Maybe the daggets ate all the bodies, bones and all?
(The moderator censored me the first time I posted the above, saying it was the wrong episode. But I posted it in this thread and I am talking about "Hand of God." That's kind of the point, isn't it? That side story is almost the same every week!)
Here are some ideas to make the Caprica side story more interesting. First, they should run into a person in the next episode, after showing that Helo now understands that cylons can look like people. Helo decides to just kill the person, because it's the only way to be safe. And Boomer knows it was a human he just killed. With the look of horror on her face, you know she is starting to wonder if she wasn't better off on the side of the cylons.
Next, suppose Helo and Boomer run into a pack of wild daggets munching on some corpses. I think the daggets should just be real wolves/dogs, so no CGI or people in furry costumes. Of course, the bloody-faced daggets soon smell Helo and Boomer and pursue them, pushing them back towards the chrome toasters, who then push them back towards the daggets, like a game of pickle. Meanwhile on Galactica, a wolf-dagget is found in a cargo hold, and Boxey gets his pet, ah, so cute. In a later episode, the daggets are seen running *with* the chrome toasters and obey the commands of the blonde, and we come to realize that the daggets all look alike (all have one black paw or something) and *are* one of the 12 models of cylon.
Finally, Boomer comes clean with Helo and admits she is a cylon and just as he is about to kill her with a club, she tells him she is pregnant with their child and that she really loves him. He drops the club and cries. I'm sure something like this part will actually happen.

He drops the club and cries. I'm sure something like this part will actually happen. Uh, that sounds less like Battlestar Galactica and more like All My Cylons (As the World Burns? The Bold and the Artificial? The Cyborg and the Restless? Caprica Place?). Just kidding, sounds plausible, although that two-sentence summary does sound a lot like soap opera summaries. I personally like that other than the A and B plot, there's also a C plot that arcs all through the season. I mean, all it takes up is a few minutes each episode, and means that there's an A arc AND a B arc, and each episode ends with a resolution as well as a cliffhanger. Kudos to Ron Moore on this. Now, the episode. HOLY FRACKING FELGERKARB DID THAT KICK ASS I can't believe I'm watching the SFX of a TV show. That bombing run by Apollo might be associated with the Death Star run, but this outclassed that undeniably classic scene in every way. It was dynamic, visually impeccable, and white-knuckle thrilling. This show is so incredibly good, and has totally made up for that last Token Annoying Love Interest ep.

Felt sorry for Boomer even if she is a robot. Talk about a woman scorned, dont mess with a cylon! Oh, come on! Like Boomer wouldn't have bailed on Crashdown in a second back in the day, if there was some hot chief loving on the table (not literally on the table of course, or literally on the table, I'm not one to pry) And I mean seriously, does no one remember 33? 'He's not my ECO, he's just a refugee from Triton' ... have you ever read something back that you've written and realised that you may be beginning to sound vaguely obsessive and strange? Oh, on a sidenote, did anyone catch the name of the Crashdown's ensign friend? I kinda forgot *feels so ashamed*

Hmmm, I feel sort of bad about this but I didn't really care for the episode. I have liked all the others except the Hatch episode, which I thought was dull. Maybe it was just my mood when I watched it. It seemed like the writing was simplistic and the stories that I thought were so mysterious and interesting before now seem flailing and predictable. I dunno - we'll see what the next few episodes hold. My favorite thread is definately Baltar but even his schtick is wearing a little thin.
It may be that I just watched an entire season of Alias which is affecting my judgement.

It may be that I just watched an entire season of Alias which is affecting my judgement. It is just one of those things. When they say either we get the fuel or it is game over then you know in the end they will get the fuel. For me it was not the predictability of the episode, as I believe the outcome was a foregone conclusion, rather, it was the heart-to-heart Adama and Lee had, and Kara coming to grips with the fact that her services as a tactician may outweigh her service as a fighter pilot that made this a great episode, IMO. I thought the Vipers hidden inside the cargo ships was cleaver as I had not guessed that they were there, but maybe I am just dumb. Anyway, watch it again and see if you still feel the same way, if so, perhaps it is just a dud for you. After all, they cannot all be Emmy contenders.

... have you ever read something back that you've written and realised that you may be beginning to sound vaguely obsessive and strange? All the time! And I agree the plot was perhaps a little predictable (not as though they're going to fail to get the fuel and all die horribly, as has been said) but every good series needs to have a few washover episodes of just pure, kick-butt enjoyment. The intrigue and emotional depth are great, but if you keep pushing and pushing in that direction the audience are going to be so drained that they'll eventually give up from some kind of intellectual exhaustion or something. And there were SOME 'ohmygoodness' moments, like the fact that the rest of the Vipers were hidden in the freighter (so cool), that Lee actually managed to impress everyone (wow) and plus the revelation about Rosalin. And besides, the little father-son scene with Lee and the old man was just plain cute! Okay, I admit it, I just love this ep and refuse to hear a word against it...sorry 'bout that, people with the brains to offer a more balanced opinion. ;D
