Helo hasn't figured out the thing about the human-looking cylons obviously. Someone needs to get him a copy of the mini-series DVD for Christmas.
The ships in the freighters...good plot twist. I was happy the episode wasn't too predictable. (luckily I didn't read Pithia, hehe).
The whole "this has all happened before" thing is starting to smell of The Matrix...I really hope it doesn't go down that road.

Has God (cyclon no 1?) got a direct link to Baltar via the six implant? Was 'allowing' the colonials access to the fuel by destroying the base to make sure they could have enough fuel to get to Kobol. I would guess this is so that the cyclons can get their hands on Kobol and wipe out all the humans at once. Maybe the cylons consider Kobol to be their spiritual home. They might have been looking for it for years. Maybe they saw that making the prophecy happen by wiping out most of the humans would help them find it. They could even be still doing that by putting images in the presidents mind.
I wonder how much this prophecy thing will play out. Six was talking about the 12 snakes being vipers (ships) with baltar however the presidents bit with the snakes, the cancer and leading the survivors seemed bang on the money.

According to the ep summaries at Gateworld a Raptor is shot down over Kobol by a Raider - so the Cylons are there already.
Perhaps in their desire to become fully human the Cylons have found two things hard to understand - faith and love. So, they are provoking, or prompting humanity towards a re-enactment of the "bible" with themselves in the role of God in order to try to learn more? Or something like that.

The thing that annoys me is everyone's take on Apollo's run up the Conveyor being like Star Wars, like Frack it was... Does this mean that when someone sneaks in through the back door or a service duct, it will be related to Star wars. If this is the case people need to get out and experience more of life.

No need to be touchy about it, we're all fans here. You have to agree that piloting a small spacecraft down tight mechanical tunnels in order to destroy an planetoidy installation is at the least reminiscent of Star Wars, if not directly inspired by it. Either way, that's no bad reflection on BSG; its far from creatively bankrupt at this stage.

Bearing in mind that vipers and x-wings look very similar (same red markings, similar cockpit, cylindrical engines and long nose) and the scene involved flying through ducting, I think any comparison is fair, if you were to describe the scene to a fan that missed it you would undoubtedly refer to the end of Star Wars or ROTJ.
I'm not sure on timelines, or who is the plagurist, but someone copied someone else, period, on the ship design. So Death Star-esgue trench scenes are bit stupid if they don't want people to compare.

If it was flying into the heart of the planetoid I would whole heartedly agree but he just ducked under the fence by using a ready built tunnel

Fantastic ep totally agree with AICN's review once again well acted and well written, The viper stuff really was fantastic to to watch I can see why some ppl may refer to appollos trip through the conveyor a throwback to Star Wars but as Blade Runner said he just used it to duck under I loved where the other Vipers came from - I didn't see that one coming at all, I was glad to see more apollo ;D The Caprica stuff once again though not long enough once again furthered Helos plot, And also the roslins hallucinations/visions are certainly interesting is it the stuff shes taking or prophecy (personaly I thought it was funny she saw snakes when she was in with the press ;D)

Awesome episode, no other word for it.
The Viper combat was great, "chuckles" particularly so.#
Im looking forward to the confrontation at the home of the gods, maybe we'll get to see the Galacticas main guns fire.

Finally! I just saw the episode and after a week I can at last look at this thread . Let me just say again: Best...episode...ever! Every plot thread was tugged forward a few degrees and the action was top-notch. Forgot to look at the listed director of this episode, but they did a great job with the tension near the end; the battle here was better than any of the action in the mini. Great cheering moment when the 2nd wave makes an appearance. I also love the CIC-bound Starbuck; she's really coming into her own as a character torn from her freewheeling path and having to make decisions based on lives other than her own for a change; kudos to miss Sackhoff. Only 3 more? It can't be

there dirctor was good, one shot particulary.
As the vipers detach from the freighters the camra shows them floating upside down, and it does a 180 as they fly past towards the cylon base showing them the right way up. We cut to the planning board back on Galactica, it has a shot of the model vipers, the camera "flys" past and does another 180 to bring the words Cylon base onto the screen right way up.
Also where on the galatica was the operation taking place? The commander leaves to get to cic where Id imagine it would all be run from there, but they obviously have somewhere else they run operations from, Im wondering wether weve seen it before.

Yeah, that was particulary clever. Can't wait to watch it again on Sky One Mix, this time with the video set, I've recorded all the others but missed the best so far. Duh!!!
