I've been wandering around the boards on the Scifi site and was angered and depressed by turns over the content (and attitudes.) Actually, that's how I found this site. Its fabulous! Job well done and congratulations to everyone who helped get this site off the ground (ditto on keeping it running, too!) i agree completely. i first went to the Sci-Fi site and was so disgusted by the nit-picking about things that didn't have anything to do with the concept of BSG. People were using the new BSG more to vent their frustrations over their own social hang-ups than to discuss the show itself. It was almost like they were trying to talk themselves into not liking it. A good friend of mine told me this site was way better, and i haven't looked back since. Good to have another fan on board!

Thanks, caseOrange! Its great to be amoung you all! VPM Why not you choose yourself an avatar from the gallery in your profile, there are plenty of good ones to choose from. Some take a liittle while to load due to them being animated. have fun

Having just signed up, figured I better say hello and introduce myself. I've been a longtime fan off the original galactica series for years, despite how dated it now appears.
Like many others, I read the press on the new mini series before it was screened and was not to impressed with what I heard. Yet was very suprised with what I saw and am pleased to see a very 'downn to earth' take on sci-fi.
Unfortunately sharing a Sky disc means I've missed about half the episodes so far! Being a military and aviation history fan I tend to take a close look at how realistic a sci-fi military is depicted (something the original series fell down a lot on), and the new series certainly seems to make the effort far more than most other sci-fi.
Anyway, glad to be onboard.
Gary

Greetings all, The board design is slick, the graphics rock and the content is outstanding!
I have been posting at MediaBlvds BSG site for about a year under the handle Ioraptor. After speculating on what the new series would be like; who would turn out to be a Cylon, whether the science would remain consistent and edgy, how soon the Cylons would discover the fleet its exciting to see how its all turning out.
We dont have the series yet in California but I'm looking forward to January for the premiere. Happy holidays all and dont forget to brush your teeth in the morning or someone might think you are a Cylon.

Hello to all NEW BSG fans! It feels great to have a dedicated forum such as this to discuss what could possibly be the greatest sci-fi concept ever! I have only seen the mini (about 6 times) & reside in the U.S. I am jealous of our friends across the pond who've been fortunate enough to see the series!
Maybe we can start some discussion threads that are for fans that haven't seen the series yet! I know that caseOrange will agree with me on this.
BTW, this board is SWEEEEET!
IT HAS BEGUN!!!!!

hello! I'm new here, my name is SJ. On the trekBBS I'm known as insert_name_here...if any of you are from there. I'm an Australian who happens to live in the UK at the moment, who is fortunate enough to have Sky One ;D Now that I have to wait till after Christmas for the next episode, I thought I'd come here before I go into withdrawrals from lack of BSG. Oh yes and most importantly my favourite characters are President Roslin and Commander Adama

Welcome, SJ. When you say TrekBBS....that isn't Startrek.com is it? If not, what is the link to TrekBBS? Glad you are enjoying the new show. I am waiting until it hits stateside here in the US. I have gotten to see the miniseries and the first episode...and thus far I am duly impressed. Once again, Welcome. Respectfully, Martok2112

Hello! Newbie nugget checking in. There doesn't seem to be any kind of formal introductory thing here but...I'm a brand new convert to the fandom, have never seen so much as a twinkle of the original series but fell in love with the mini and am now an out-and-out fan of the new BSG. So ancient and revered fans-from-the-beginning, please forgive any blasphemy I may unintentionally commit. Glad to have found the Anchorage! It's not often that a quality fan site springs up so soon after the debut of a new series, previous cult following or not. And where did the background come from? It's so pretty!
