Does anyone know about Gaeta's parent's? Starbucks? The refugee kid from Trition? So far most (Known Cylons) don't have any or they died (Boomers parents died). Other favorites (to be a Cylon) Billy had parents that moved to Picon to be closer with family, Boxey's dad was at Armistice Station, Lee adama's father is still around. I don't think the Cylons would choose people that have parents that could out them. Just a thought.

Leoben details Starbuck's past to her in episode 8, Flesh and Bone. Starbuck was raised by her mother, whose philosophy was that suffering makes you stronger, so she made Starbuck suffer. I don't remember what happened to her father... dead I think.

So that leaves Gaeta , Crashdown the kid from trition, Sciconious (Can't say the name much less spell it), and Dualla.

I reckon it was much easier being a Colonial Warrior in the old days. Grab your blaster, shoot at anything resembling a toaster with a weird moving LED thing, can't go wrong. Today its just so *COMPLEX*!!!!

I don't really think any of them will turn out to be a Cylon, but of those, Gaeta is more likely than the others, if for no other reason than his "white boy dancing" expression during the dance on Colonial Day. Quit biting your lip and relax! Not everyone of the main cast can be Cylons, ya' know. If they are, the series is a big joke.

Regarding Lt. Gaeta, as much as I'd like there to be a tricky way that he is not a Cylon, is there any other way to explain these facts? 1. In Ep. 8, Leoben said, quite confidently, that the fleet would find Kobol. (How can he be so confident unless a Cylon is plotting the exploratory jumps?) 2. Lt. Gaeta was the one who plotted the jump for Boomer's Raptor to the planet that turned out to be Kobol, and the writers went out of their way to have Boomer point this out. To answer myself, yes, there is a way to get Gaeta out of this. If "Adama is a Cylon," then he could have directed the fleet to the general proximity of Kobol. Then it's Gaeta's duty to direct the exploration of ALL solar systems within raptor jump distance. There is other evidence against Gaeta, of course.

I think we could comfortably enjoy an entire second season without any of the major characters being revealed as a Cylon. One was more than enough for the first season and should do quite nicely for another.
Revealing too many major characters as Cylons undermines our ability to sympathize for any of the rest, lest they betray us as well.
The shock of Boomer's assassination attempt, however, will shake up priorities quite a bit. With the Cylon detector exposed as a fraud, Baltar's influence will take a nosedive (to the point where he may well throw in his lot entirely with the Cylons, as in TOS).
One interesting side effect of the assassination is that the leaders of the Colonies may well call off their search for Earth and keep secret any "revelations" from bringing the Arrow of Apollo within the Tomb of Athena. A not so vaguely incestuous picture that (shades of "keymaster" and "gatekeeper" a la Ghostbusters).
After all, with human-looking Cylon agents posing a clear and present danger to the fleet, and no reliable way to detect them, they would likely be leading the proven exterminators of humanity to Earth should they continue on their quest. The more reasonable goal would be to shake Cylon pursuit for an extended period, find a habitable planet or two, and regroup.
Although Colonial Leadership may sanction covert Raptor "missions" to follow up any leads from Kobol, no full fleet involvement should take place until the ability of the "Earthlings" are assessed to defend themselves from the menance the Cylons represent. There is also now the problem of vetting a trustworthy Raptor pilot to carry out such a mssion.
Although my recollection is murky of TOS, I don't remember anything very dramatic arising from finding Earth the first time around, other than raiders chewing up some urban scenery. The new writers will handle this development, no doubt, much more adeptly, but I can't see it happening soon at all.

RDM has been smart enough to avoid the planet-of-the-week trap. I hope he also ditches any notion of a Cylon-of-the-season.

Laura Roslin = Cylon
Why? My reasoning (tenuous, I admit)
When she was asking about Galactica's ships doctor she said she had "allergies"
So did the cylon gun runner on Ragnar!
OK, I don't know if cylons get breast cancer tho...

I think Roslin's first choice for VP (was his name Gray?) will turn out to be a Cylon. He will still try to weasel into a position to influence the civilian leadership, much like he weasled his way into that holding cell to kill the would be assassin. The assassin he sent in the first place to ensure his rise to the presidency.

I like that idea very much, especially since it involves a "peripheral" character like Gray (a great name, by the way, for a human-looking Cylon).
My biggest problem with it is that Gray seems to have an extensive backstory, and is too old to be a human-looking Cylon

Hmmm. Interesting theory about Gray. Could be. But... a Cylon named Wally? Just not very menacing.

Never thought about the Billy giving Roslin water angle. They go out of the way to show it though, hmmm very interesting.

I would suspect Billy as being a Cylon sleeper agent since he's so close to Roslin. I seriously doubt that Lt. Gaeta is a Cylon.
