Woohoo! Now comes the next big question.... When will season 2 premiere in the UK and USA? I'm willing to let the Brits have first peek again, but hopefully the gap won't be 3 fracking MONTHS this time. Maybe they can both premiere in September or at least sometime in the fall? Hey, I've been gone since Friday, but I'm back. I doubt they'll wait that long after the internet scare.

No offence guys - but I'll wait until Sci-fi say 'yup - S2 is a goer'! before I start doing the official 'happy dance'. Just don't want to get my hopes up and then get bitten in the... Use your imaginations people! I'm sure KR is on the money but... need evidence!

Thank you ashoka. I have posted this on the other sites including our GS homepage. My guess is this information will continue to leak out before the official announcement is made. KR

Well, if Sci-fi take as long to break the news that BSG has gotten a second series as they did to announce that Beau Bridges is joining the cast of SG-1... then we could be looking at the opposite side of Valentines Day before we get 'official' news! Oh well - but the Toronto Star news is good news in my book. No offense to Xenu or the lovely folks make the place what it is, but for a source such as that to say 'it's going to happen' people... makes me a happy monster!

Here's some additional news on the BSG pickup: www.syfyportal.com/article.php?id=1724Another Jump For 'Galactica' Audience Author: Michael Hinman Ratings for the fourth week have had strong returns for the late Friday night show, as an estimated 3.2 million viewers tuned in to see the conclusion of "Act of Contrition." NBC Universal still has not made a decision on the fate of the series, although a Canadian newspaper reported this week that the show has been picked up for a second 13-episode season. SyFy Portal sources are saying that the show is getting a pickup, but there seems to be some kind of tie-up between officials from Sci-Fi Channel and NBC Universal. It is unclear what the tie-up is about, but some are speculating that it might be over NBC rebroadcast rights. One source has speculated it might actually be over NBC's desire to air the series on a first-run basis. ___________________________________________ Well- it seems that NBC & Sci-Fi want the show for themselves! How absolutely selfish of these networks to be fighting over a little thing called Galactica, huh? It would appear that BSG is a hot & valuable franchise that will not get placed on the proverbial dung heap. To many seasons ahead, KR

Words cannot express the joy... ;D ;D ;D ;D (one for each hour of the Mini) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D (for each episode) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D (for the Season 2 scripts originally picked up) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D (for each Season 2 episode) ... the Toronto Star is like the New York Times of Canada (if you didn't know). So it's a teetering dinosaur of a hippie commune full of plagiarists and cultural subversionists?... (Whoops! Did i write that out loud?)

I was very glad to see this. ;D Salem has a well established reputation and the Star is a quality paper. I would have to say though that here in Canada the "Globe and Mail" would be the comparable paper to the NYT in the States IMO. ;D
