That's sensational news KR! Any word on the announcement date? I'll feel more certain then myself. Sandy's recent statement made me very apprehensive (having read it just after learning of Enterprise's axing) and I'd just like some official word!

Given that the mini makes its Aussie tv debut this friday, a renewal notice would be great timing by the end of the week!

I believe one of the reasons why the official announcement was not made was that Sci-Fi did not want it to occur right after the Enterprise cancellation.
But be patient a bit longer for Sci-Fi to announce it.
There will be a Season 2, rest assured.
I have absolutely no doubts about that!

The signs were there Wednesday during my interview with Aaron Douglas, he just signed a long term deal with the show.

And also for the first time he said he uttered THE four words in the new series lexicon.

All that and the planets being aligned just right cant possibly be wrong?

This is excellent news! I wonder when we'll know if all the cast are back for S2?

Interesting observation about the Stargates... I wonder if Sci-Fi will be able to keep three origional shows running, or if one of the SGs will have to go after the upcoming seasons? Do we know the relative production costs of BSG v Stargate?

I was wondering what the budget would be compared to the 1st series. I wonder if its success will mean more budget for FX.

Also I would imagine that Ron Moore would have the plot for the next few series plotted out already. By that I mean I would hope that the 1st series was always written with a longterm plot in mind. I wouldnt like to think that they are all going "OH NUTS WHAT ON EARTH ARE WE GOING TO WRITE ABOUT".

I'm with you, Harvester. I want to believe KR's news because it's what I want to hear, but I think I'll hold off celebrating until it's official. I just hope they make the official announcement soon!

Hey Xenu - if you're looking for Spider, he's been hanging out a lot at the Moist board. I'm sure you can reach him there. I'll be curious to see if he makes good on the bet. But, I wouldn't make any collection attempts just yet since the official word has not been given. Of course, you could just go taunt him a little.
