I was walking out of the store with my wife and when she realized that she forgot something she blurted out. Oh Frak!"
Now if you knew my wife you would have died, because this is a woman who hates all things Sci-Fi and yet now she stands over me asking when is BSG going to be ready to watch. I tell you it brought a tear to my eye. ;D

I've done my part! So far, I've gotten 4 more people to watch the new BSG! A couple of them were ones that probably would have never watched it if it hadn't been for my persistence! One friend I work with heard me babble about it for the last year & he finally caught half of the re-broadcast & came in to work the next day wanting to borrow the DVD! I loaned it to him & he & his wife watched it Thursday night & then they watched the premiere on Friday & they are hooked! A lot of these people are not scifi lovers, but they loved the story no matter what genre it is! It has begun...

I'm not yet convinced you sci-fi loving girls are out there. I see ya' all over the internet here, but every one that creeps into real life gets pissed at me if BSG interferes with whatever reality show she's following that week. If she's not pissed already...

Be convinced, Xenu! I watched the mini everytime it was on last week! Hubby even knew not to call me last Wednesday (while he was away on a business trip) while the mini was on because he knew I was probably watching it. He also put sonny-boy to bed as agreed upon on friday night because he knew I didn't want to miss the Lowdown or the 1st 2 eps friday night.
At least where BSG is concerned, no other show can be watched instead of it. That's just blasphemy!
And don't get me started on 'Reality' shows! I'll just say this...its just another name for soap-opera, not realistic in the least, just an escapist past-time. If people were really interested in reality they would watch the news or, heck, just go outside!
Pardon my rabidity!

I'm not yet convinced you sci-fi loving girls are out there. That is the crux of the matter, my wife hates and I mean absolutely hates sci-fi. It was only because I caught her on a day that she was bored that I got her to watch “33”, she started to ask questions about the show, and I said well you need to watch the mini and one Sunday we did that. After a few episodes she was hooked and not on the sci-fi aspects of the show but the drama. If this were an SG-1 or Star Trek clone, we would not be having this conversation, Moore has really created something here that can appeal to the sci-fi and non-sci-fi alike, and my wife is proof of that.

I will reiterate that Sci-Fi gals do exist and I don't mean in a I-wish-I-had-six-heads-and-Scotty-could-beam-me-up sort of way (although, no offense to those that do - after all, everyone has to have a goal in life, right?! I may not be as hardcore as you gents , but I have been known to watch a fair amount of Sci-Fi programs. It started either with Star Wars (ep. 4, "A New Hope") or the Lost in Space series. After that it was the rest of the Star Wars movies, The Black Hole, Star Blazers (anyone remember that cartoon ?!), the Alien series of movies, Dr. Who series (had a thing for the 5th Doctor!), Star Trek:TNG series and movies (which I will admit were my hubby's influence, but I did enjoy them, too!), Event Horizon movie, Stargate the movie, The Fifth Element, The Matrix series of movies (got a thing for Keanu Reeves - I don't watch for the acting skills, to me he's eye candy ;D and, well, the concept of the movies and the special effects are awesome!) and, of course, BSG TOS & TNS (but not Galactica 80 - I only lasted 1/4th of the first ep, I think!) I know I'm forgetting some, but that's what comes to mind in a pinch. Now if you'll pardon me, I've got some New York strip steaks to marinade... VPM

While my wife is not a sci-fi gal, she really likes BSG. So RDM's attempt to bring in non sci-fi people seems to be working. KR

Xenu, are you kidding!?! *waves arm in air insistently a la Hermione Granger* ;D I've loved SF/Fantasy on TV, books and movies since I was *yay* high. Star Wars, TOS, Treks, Farscape, Spirited Away, Potterverse, Dark Angel, Buffy, Dune, Stargate, Macross, etc. etc. etc. You name it, chances are I dug it too, some more than others. Unlike neural!Scorpy or neural?Miss Six, strange girls like me are VERY real! The truth is out there, and all that jazz Just me, but I personally don't buy into any of the so-called 'reality' programming clogging the arteries, *heh*. Couldn't care less about that stuff, unless it's "Animal Cops" on Animal Planet, but I guess that doesn't count. Frak me. . . P.S. I've tried sending a positive thank-you email to PTB @skiffy but it got bounced back to me twice. Anyone else w/the same problems, or have any idea about what might be happening. (server overload?) I'm completely behind more, more MOORE TNS (all I can get).

REALITY TV SUCKS!!!!!!!!! And I happen not to like alcohol, so getting pissed without being angry is difficult. Although I have been known to act drunk after a glass of Ribena. We definitely need a convention of some sort. And everyone from here who goes needs to wear an ID badge to prove we're real. ESPECIALLY us ladies. ;D
