I came across this article a little while ago... it made me chuckle:
Inside Move: Red & blue shows
Fall lineup split along party lines
Date in print: Mon., Sep. 13, 2004, Weekly
Variety Magazine
Not only is NBC's "Father of the Pride" doing nicely in the ratings, it's getting a roar of approval from Democratic viewers.
Fitting, considering the animated skeinskein is produced by DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg, one of Hollywood's liberal pillars.
But ask Republicans what shows they like among the fall TV hopefuls, and they give the thumbs up to such titles as ABC's "Rodney." Sitcom headlines stand-up comedian Rodney Carrington, a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy if ever there was one.
Hoping to steer clients in the right direction, media buying agency 'Initiative' sampled voters as to their preferences for the various new dramas, comedies and reality skeins arriving on the nets' fall schedules.
There were clear divides, such as in the case of ABC's "Savages." Republicans are 62% more likely than the average viewer to watch; Democrats are 60% less likely to tune in.
Among undecided voters, 65% are more likely to watch the WB's "Jack and Bobby" than the average viewer, while Republicans were 60% less likely to tune in to the politically tinged drama. Democrats were smack in the center.
Of the shows making Initiative's top 10 list, "Father of the Pride" also garnered the largest percentage of undecided voters (41%).
On the top 10 list, NBC's drama "LAX" shows the largest percentage of decided voters (67%).
Sci-Fi's "Battlestar Galactica" has the highest concentration of independent voters.
Captain Apollo would be proud.
