And also my quasi-religious devotions make that scenario highly unlikely...I recommend www.vhemt.org as long as you're of a liberal mindset. ;D No need for this--it'll come along quite involuntarily, i'm sure. The earth is experimenting with different habitations of life-forms to find one that's most compatible. We aren't the first end-of-the-food-chain species, and we won't be the last. Earth has been here for approximately 4 1/2 billion years and we've been here for maybe 200,000. It's been through a lot of things worse than us, including massive earthquakes, ice ages, meteor strikes and the magnetic reversal of the poles, to name a few. It's kind of conceited to think that somehow we're a threat to its existence. i think the survivors of the recent tsunami could attest to that. If we invent something toxic and/or that doesn't biodegrade, the earth will just suck it up and incorporate it into its structure, and maybe spit it back out as something totally different later on. We aren't hurting the earth as much as we're hurting our ability to live well on it. As far as other species on our planet, over 90% of all the species that have ever lived here have gone extinct--we didn't kill them all. The environment no longer supported their form of life, or Nature just weeded them out. Saving other species from extinction could be looked at as a humanitarian effort to help our fellow earth-mates, or as interfering with Nature--we'll never know which. This isn't to say that humans should continue to poison the environment, or wreak havoc on other species. As a free-thinker with no political agenda or affiliation, i had to comment. Sorry to go OT. **Looks in the cabinet for a can of Relationship worms...doesn't see any...needs to go to store** ;D

That tears it; had a funky (and not a good funky, either) day today. Gonna have to re-adjust myself with my grandmother's favorite perscription - wine and chocolate.

Lol, if that was going to happen I think it would have done by now. Family and friends have been breeding like rabbits over the last few years, but no effect on me whatsoever. Besides, my GF isn't remotely maternal either, so we keep each other on the straight and narrow, as far as this is concerned anyway. Yes sure ziptie we believe you ;D. FYI the epidural NOT always kill ALL the pain ....

Sorry to hear about your bad epidurals, CylonGodess. I've only had one, but, boy, was it good (too bad my son decided to shove his feet up under my ribs just as I was experiencing some relief from the contractions - couldn't get some much needed sleep.) Still, the meds worked well!

Well, i finally have something to contribute to this thread that actually has something to do with relationships! It happened while looking through today's newspaper. But first, a little background (in TNS-ese): About 14 years ago, i was engaged to a girl who i thought was a Cally/Kara but who turned out to be an Ellen Tigh. i'll spare all the nasty details, but needless to say it was a bad dis-engagement. Hadn't seen her in years, didn't know what she looked like now or what she was doing. Until i came across the real estate section of today's paper--and there was my Ms. Tigh (she either hadn't become a Mrs. or wasn't one for long), real estate agent for a local company. A decent one, too, it seems. It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, seeing her pic and name again; although it did stir up a few memories. It's been a long time and i've got a good girlfriend now who i wouldn't trade for the world. But i couldn't help but think, "Who did you sleep with more to get that position--your bosses or the homebuyers?!" Is that a bad thing? Anyway, it's something that happened tonight and i figured it was something for this thread.

Looks like i wandered into the wrong conversation there..... I'm with you, Boz. Let's go back to the hippie commune as VPM suggests. Group hug, anyone? caseOrange, that's a very unfortunate story. At least you're well shot of her now.
