I still cant believe the Cubs would trade Sammy Sosa, a future hall-of-famer, for the gimpy Jerry Hairston & two medicore minor league players! Now the Orioles could have two players reach the 600 homer plateau in the same year-Sammy Sosa & Rafael Palmiero!

It's Sammy's attitude that got him traded. He has alienated his teammates, criticized the manager, and complained about being moved down in the batting order when he wasn't producing. He also alienated the fans by skipping out early on the final game of last season. Basically, he did it to himself. Future hall-of-famer or not, baseball, like all other professional sports is a game of "what have you done for me lately" and, unfortunately, Sammy just didn't produce the stats last year or the past couple of years that his paycheck required. Quite frankly, he's not worth the $25M a year he was getting paid, and paying $12M a year to get rid of him is a bargain. If he can help the Orioles in some way then more power to them, but he's outlived his welcome as a Cub.
