On and off, through out these boards, there has been a great deal of talk about food and different recipes, etc.
So, due to the fact that this is now such an international site, I thought it would be an idea to share such recipes with each other.
If your posted recipe was originally from a magazine or other source, please give credit to that person or persons.
Please only post recipes that you have used and enjoyed on a regular basis.

Manx Kippers. Microwaved for 1 minute. Served with a knob of butter and fresh bread. Has to be a Manx kipper, they are the best. www.manxkippers.com you can see where they are made!

Chorizo and Beef Stew.
There are no measures to this one, do it to taste.
Brown off some stewing beef, add a chopped onion, then two table spoons of paprika. Then add some chopped Chorizo (spanish sausage), beef stock (in the tubs) and a tin of chopped tomatoes. Add some water to give a soup consistency, but don't dilute the flavour too much, then add quartered large potatoes. Season. Simmer for 40 mins.
Serve out in bowls with two quaters per portion, then add a dolup of soured cream.

At long last, I submit to you the Peanut Butter Cake Recipe.
I've changed the recipe from the original (I reduced slightly the amount of sugar, egg yolks and egg whites in the cake part and changed the frosting recipe, the original frosting recipe included twice as much butter) found in a cooking magazine. I've made it for other people this way and the original way, and have been told this version is just as good as the original. I've even substituted "Smart Balance Buttery Spread" for all of the butter in the recipe with excellent results.
Peanut Butter Cake
1 cup creamy peanut butter ½ cup butter or margarine, softened 1-1/3 cups sugar 2 large whole eggs 3 cups all-purpose flour 4 teaspoons baking powder ½ teaspoons salt 1-1/2 cups lowfat milk
Peanut Butter FROSTING: 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened 6 cups confectioners’ sugar ½ cup lowfat milk 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350oF. In a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, butter and sugar. Add eggs and egg whites; mix well. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Mix well. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 ¼ inch baking pan. Bake at 350oF for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. For frosting, cream, peanut butter and butter. Add confectioners’ sugar, milk and vanilla; beat until smooth. Frost cake.
Yield: 18 servings

Ok, so halve the recipe back or split into 2 cakes (using 2 separate smaller cake pans and freeze, unfrosted, for later consumption - although, this I've never tried because I usually make the cake for special family events.) Or give half to Blade Runner, like you said, and he'll be your new best friend! VPM

Seriously?! You need to watch the Food network then. Especially Alton Brown, he's the man. He gives you the science behind cooking/baking along with tips and techniques on how to do certain things. Very informative. And funny, too. There's also a show called "How to Boil Water" (I don't watch that one so much any more, but when I did, I thought it nice and basic; recipes weren't too hard and didn't use fruffie-fruffie ingredients like truffle oil and froi gras. I know I sound a bit square here. I have mentioned I'm a self professed "foodie", who has a serious passion for making real, honest to goodness food (ya know, from scratch-not that "just add water and nuke stuff"!) I also have a serious passion to pass on this love to everyone (I guess its kind of a mission for me.) Not to slight anyone who uses boxed fare. I know it serves a purpose. However, it also has a time and place. To me food is love, and it isn't what that little 3 inch overpuffed cgi pop-culture bake dude is hawking. I'm talking real stuff-not fluff. Yikes *cringes*, hubby always says I have way too much attitude! VPM

Prawn and Advocado Spaghetti
Boil spaghetti, tip into serving dish. Rinse frozen prawns in a bowl, until defrosted, add to dish. Chop up advocado into cubes, finely chop up a glove of garlic, and quarter some cherry tomatoes. Add all this into the dish. Tear up some fresh basil, sprinkle in. Turn the ingredients around until uniformly mixed. Then drizzle some virgin olive oil over the top, and add the juice of half a lemon.
This was taught me by an Italian girlfriend, before, I thought pasta had to have a chease or tomatoe sauce.
Trust me, this one is fantastic. Use chopped crispy bacon instead of prawns, as an allternative.
And I wonder where this bear gut came from ;D

VPM Half Half I know I said I couldn’t eat 18 servings, but I’m sure I could manage at least 10 servings. ;D ;D ;D I need one of you guys over here...I'm lucky if I can cook toast without screwing up I’ll send you some Peanut Butter Cake, mate. ;D

Definitely a must-experience cake. Goes best with a huge glass of icy-cold milk.
(Its great for breakfast, too!)
