Funny quote... but it's even funnier to see who the messenger is.... 'Entertainment Weekly'. About the lack of respect issue... Frankly, if you're personally offended by a remark like that... you're part of the problem. The argument against Sci-Fi fans is that they're obsessed with the show itself: Actors, Scenery, Costumes, Technology..... And the stories take a back seat. Look at the term 'sci-fi fans'. It implies your love of a genre, not of a story. I'd get nervous if someone told me they loved the 'genre' of 'Action' 'Love' 'Gangster'. This shows that you're loyal to the violence, sex, domination, and in Sci-Fi's case... the scenery. Again the story itself is secondary, as long as people are using guns, their sexual organs, and in sci-fi's case... 'gadgets'. If you do care about the stories first, then you're not a Sci-Fi fan, you just like the stories on BSG. If you're offended by the remarks on that level, there's no problem. But when you get pissed off because someone snickered at a couple of dorky names... well... good luck. rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=%2F19990521%2FREVIEWS%2F905210304%2F1023&AID1=%2F19990521%2FREVIEWS%2F905210304%2F1023&AID2=

BTW--i had to change the avatar because someone else started using it. Too bad. i thought that orange glow on his face helped emphasize my posting name. Oh well...i had been meaning to make up my own for a while, but had gotten lazy about it. i guess this is what i needed to get me to get up off my butt and do it. Well, 'tis a very nice avatar. I really need to make my own too, but I can't decide who or what to have on it.

Well, 'tis a very nice avatar. I really need to make my own too, but I can't decide who or what to have on it. I reckon you should give some love to one of the much overlooked and unloved characters; Racetrack, Hotdog, Kat or Chuckles, someone like that. *nod* stand out much more that way.

Racetrack was pretty cool. Maybe I'll adopt her. It's not like we need more bus drivers, after all.

OOOOH! T'ank you Crash! *big hug*
Don't think the second batch are Racetrack, though. Isn't that the pilot that got *SPOILER*
blown up in Hand of God whilst screaming at Chuckles?
Possibly. But the other two will do just great. T'ank you! *more big hugs*
Did I mention I have a tendency to be very tactile? ;D

No problem. Yeah I think you may be right. They at least look kinda similair though, right? Not just me wigging out. *hugs back* ... tactile? Does that mean you can plan battles and stuff?. *hears whispers off-screen and glances to the side* Oh. Tact-ical. My bad.

Yes, they do look very similar, it's not just you. Although as an aside, I wonder if any pilots are trained to fly both Raptors and Vipers? Adama seems to, at least for ferry purposes (Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down), but he was primarily a Viper pilot, right? [rant]I just resent the idea that if you can fly a Viper you can OBVIOUSLY fly a Raptor. Raptor folk are in a league of their own, not just playing second fiddle to Vipers. Right? *pouts* Right![/rant] Really need to come off the sugar today... ;D

I'm pretty sure that I read an interview in which Grace Park said Boomer can fly a Viper, but I think that that was just as a decision that she'd made, rather than something that was established by any of the writers and what not

I'm pretty sure that I read an interview in which Grace Park said Boomer can fly a Viper. Now THAT would be cool. I hope the Powers That Be sanction the idea. But...wouldn't that mean that if they ran out of Viper pilots again (as they often do) they could draft in some spare Raptors? Hmmm... And don't tell me to calm down when I'm on sugar! I AM CALM! I AM SERENE AND TRANQUIL! *heaving breaths* ;D ;D
