I occasionally get the feeling Spider just sees it all as a big joke. And in all fairness it is quite amusing, and he never gets perosnally offensive to anyone. He annoys me though. His problem is that he refuses to debate the QUALITY of the show. Instead he raves on and on about "Stealth Marketers." If they had had the internet and Stealth Marketed TOS in 1978 would it have been a bad show on that basis?

He annoys me though. His problem is that he refuses to debate the QUALITY of the show. He annoys me because he never admits error. If he's on the wrong side of an argument, he immediately starts attacking the other poster or tossing out distractions. Honest debate requires a willingness to listen and consider the other person's arguments. Spider's not there for an honest debate, he's there for a CRUSADE against the heathens. *Yawn*

That's him. He joined & made 1 post, which was a slanderous diatribe against Aaron Douglas that contained some really offensive language, so he got banned immidiately. Oh, and then we all got accused of being Universal executives on his site ;D awww.....I missed it.

Spider annoys me because he always whines about people attacking him....painting himself as a martyr.

Oh, and then we all got accused of being Universal executives on his site ;D I did not see that post, but I'd like to note that Aaron Douglas's post is chock full of really offensive language, too. I understand that people want to cowboy up on behalf of the cast member, but as someone who had no idea who was being discussed or why they were so mad, bad, and dangerous to know -- I was honestly incredibly shocked by some of the things Douglas said. I'm sheltered, I know. Also, I think he's cute, and it's depressing when the cute boy turns out to be a jerk. Especially when I was hoping he would ask me to prom. But seriously: when people descend to the lowest point on the behavior scale to have a fight with a disturbed individual, there's not much justification IMO for the bystanders to cheer them on. xo, S.

Chal, Yes, aaron's post was pretty angry, but it wasn't even in the same ballpark as Lang's. If Lang's reply has been simple insulting & name-calling like Aaron's, it wouldn't have been deleted. Instead, it was peppered with comments about AIDS, sexual orientation, obscene insinuations about people's family members and just some really sick stuff in general....and it takes a lot to make me say that.
Arguments are one thing...this wasn't.

I have no doubt that the removed post was worse than Douglas's, and I think that you and BR have created a very pleasant forum - I'm sure that you know what you're doing. I just wanted to point out that there are some people woohooing and cheering on Douglas when his post had things like "I've taken dumps smarter than you" in it, and I think that takes the level down, if you know what I mean. But I'm just no fun. ;D xo, S.

As I stated when I joined this BBoard, this seems to be a place inhabited by intelligent lifeforms. BBoards generally get me offside due to the lack of respect that members show to other participants. I like to be involved in discussions where intelligence, wit and humour abound, not flame wars and disgusting personal attacks. That being said Mr. Douglas's response to Lang, while bordering on the edge of reasonable, seems justifiable. Human nature is to defend oneself if attacked. Hopefully with the removal of the questionable one, Lang, we wont see much more of this. This BBoard rocks so far, long may it live. ;D Moss P.S. Chalcedony, I'll take you to the prom if you want.

P.S. Chalcedony, I'll take you to the prom if you want. YAY!!! I will be the coolest girl with the coolest date from actual Australia with all sexay accent and everything. As soon as I make my time machine, we are so there. Please wear a tux but leave your hair all messy and manly, slicked back hair reminds me of my Uncle Jerry. Sadly, my actual prom was about 14 years ago. And my actual date turned out to be gay. It's amazing that I can watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy without bawling my head off, really. xo, S.

My prom (or the Aus equivalent) was also 14 years ago. And the tux still fits!!!! And I'm not gay, Chalc, despite a significant stretch in the Navy . (though I do enjoy QEFTSG)
