Okay, so now they've switched to yet a THIRD version of the opening theme music.

Does anybody know where can I download a QUALITY mp3/wave/whatever of the NEW opening theme?

Any help...?

And does anybody know which one they plan to put on the Season One CD? The US, UK or this new fangled one? Possibly all three to satisfy everyone concerned?

‘The Hand of God’<br>Tonight's episode of "Battlestar Galactica" was one of my very favorites from the first season. There's not much I don't love about it. Though I do have to wonder … what the heck was up with the main title theme tonight? It almost sounded like it had been mis-cued, like it was out of sync with the video. I know that doesn't make any sense from a production standpoint, but that's the only way I know how to describe it.

I've e-mailed my acquaintance Bear McCreary about it. He composes the music for the show, so if anybody is likely to know, it's him. If he gives me an answer, I'll post a follow-up.

Bear wrote back. Shockingly, the different main-title theme was just a mistake. Guess it goes to show that even in a field like broadcast TV where everybody's very concerned with getting things right, sometimes people drop the ball.

The MT you heard last Friday was a simple editorial mistake, a case of an early draft of the theme being cut into the show by accident. Should be a single incident that will be fixed for DVD.

Changing themes slightly by remixing and rereocreding the same song in between seasons is often done on many shows. Many shows often change the entire open credit sequence each season. I've never seen one change in the middle of a season nor have I seen different themes used for overseas versus USA. That is a first.
