Colonial History (rough timeline)

I'm not too sure where to put this but I've been quietly working on a rough timeline, charting the events before and after the Cylon Invasion. I've used the invasion as a time of reckoning, its day 0, everything else is either plus or minus that day. For example, Adama's birth would be -61 yrs, since he's born 61 years before the invasion. I've also added the possible dates for my fanfics. If anybody has any suggestions, namely adding specific plot notes or known ancient history and fanfic dates please feel free to add them. This is only a rough skeletal draft, based on what characters have said, ages from GalacticaTV and other sources, and more specifically how long Helo has been stranded on Caprica. Tell me what you think... I'll try and update this thread and do more research.

Colonial History, reckoned from Cylon Invasion- BGS

Note: Ages based on character bios from Sadgeezer's (SG),Galactica.TV (GTV), the first draft of the mini (FD), and finally IMDB. I took the ages that fit closests to the first draft of the miniseries and made logical sense. If two sources agreed, I used that age. IMDB was used when there was no definate winner. I did make a judgement call on Kara Thrace, since I couldn't buy her being in her 30s. I also remember it being mentioned that the character was made younger cause of Kate Sackhoff being casted. They are not canon.

Cylon Model "ages"- Six: about 20 yrs (SG and FD), Sharon "Boomer" Valerii: 24 yrs (unanimous, SG to pin date)

-3600 yrs- "One of the oracles, in the sacred scrolls. 3,600 years ago, Pythia wrote about the exile and the rebirth of a human race. And the lords anointed a leader to guide the caravan of the heavens to their new homeland and unto the leader they gave a vision of serpents, numbering two and ten, as a sign of things to come."- Elosha "'Though the outcome favored the few, it led to a confrontation at the home of the gods.'"- Six, quoting Pythian prophecy

-about 50 yrs- Tom Zarek born (judgement call), First 12 Battlestars commisioned (including Galactica)

-48 yrs- Laura Rosilin born (SG and FD)

-40 yrs- Cylon War ends, Armistice Station founded, Cylons disappear

-Cylon War Aftermath (-40 yrs to 0)- Sagittaron uprising(s),uprising on Aerilon (during Aadar's administration, Marines sent in to quell uprising) Cylon Models designed, More Battlestars commisioned, Viper Mark VII's designed, Zak Adama's funeral, Starbuck's Pyramid career, William "Husker" Adama leaves military (-39 yrs?), explosion in the mining settlement of Troy (-4 yrs?)

-34 yrs- Dr. Gaius Baltar born (IMDB,tie breaker)

-32 yrs- Galen Tyrol born (SG and FD), Lee "Apollo" Adama born (SG and GTV)

-25 yrs- Kara "Starbuck" Thrace born (IMDB,judgement call), Lt. Gaeta born (unanimous, SG for a specific date), Karl C. "Helo" Agathon born (GTV, FD, judgement call)

-21 yrs- Crewman Specialist Cally born (GTV and FD)

-20 yrs- Tom Zarek, leader of SFM, imprisoned

-19 yrs- Billy Keikeya born (GTV and FD), Petty Officer 2nd Class Dualla born (GTV and FD)

-18 yrs- Crewman Specialist Socinus born (GTV and FD)

-2 yrs- Dr. Gaius Balter meets Six, their relationship will allow for the Cylons to hack the Colonial defense mainframe

0- INVASION, Armistic Station destroyed, BSG-75 flees w/ RTFF past Red Line, Helo stranded on Caprica, Cylon occupation of Caprica (possibly other 11 Colonies)

6 days- 33 episode

10 days- Water episode

11 days- Survivor's Tale (fanfic)

- Refugee's ponder exile

12 days- Bastille Day episode

15 days- You Can't Go Home Again episode

17 days- Litmus episode

24 days- Six Degrees of Seperation episode

25 days- Flesh and Bone episode

- Sharon (BSG) takes Cylon dectector "beta" test

30 days- Colonial Movers (fanfic)

- Somewhere during or after this time blood samples are taken?

And -2000 years or so, a catastrophe on Kobol, and the 13 colonies (or 12) leave.

Not accurate anymore. Moore tells quite a bit about Saul Tigh's background, and he is indeed older than Adama and saw lot of bloody action during the Cylon War.

-39 yrs- William "Husker" Adama's first command

According to Moore, Adama left the military after the Cylon War. He returned to service at some point, yes, and brought Saul Tigh who he had befriended after the war with him.

-25 yrs- Kara "Starbuck" Thrace born (IMDB,judgement call)

Starbuck played professional sports when she was young, during her early career as a Colonial Warrior, then she busted her knee and realized that flying Vipers was her Thing.

-24 yrs- Sharon "Boomer" Valerii "born" (unanimous, SG to pin date)

-about 20 yrs- Six "born" (SG and FD)

(and about the "Cylon Models born" comment)

This is surely incorrect; the evidence seems to point out that the Cylon Models are created "as is", they do not grow up. Remember Number Six's fascination with the baby in the pilot?

Thanks, I'll edit accordingly. According to Sadgeezer's Saul is 65, which would fit with Moore's comment.

I was iffy on this as well too, but I felt I needed to explain Adama's comment about not seeing a Viper in 20 years. This appears in both drafts of the mini. Suggestions would be really good on how or if this comment should be included... Does Moore give dates? I also know about Starbuck's early career as a Pyramid player, but no dates are given for this as well...

The term "born" is purely rhetorical, since these are birthdates. I realize they are "created," but again this is Colonial history, and I'm trying to take a human perspective. This is why Doral and Leoben haven't been included into the timeline.

Question for the timeline god...

A few times there was mention of a catastrophe on a planet - I think this was mentioned twice (once by Sharon when talking with Baltar and by another cylon - I think that double of six that was on for one eppisode accusing Baltar of being a Cylon). Any idea when that happened? It's my belief that that was the start of the Cylon Clone entrance into humanity... It would also give a "safe" date that no person KNOWN to be around prior to that date could be a Cylon (also assuming that Cylons can't clone individuals...). My guess is that that happened around 4 years before the series... given that Sharon entered the military after that, and she would have been 19-20 years old at that time.

You mean this.... I completely forgot about the explosion on Troy... What you say makes sense, it shall be added to the timeline. I'm trying to refrain from speculating too much on dates, unless its actually demanded... Though it will go in under the Cylon War Aftermath part with a possible date note...

Yup, that's the one. The line a little after that was also interesting... " Probably thinks she's just another little girl from Troy whose entire background vanished in a mysterious accident." Seems like a convinent jumping point (although likely not necessary from a plot perspective).
