Today's Financial Times in Australia gives the ratings for Galactica in a round-up table of key new programs. Apparently the first episode (presumably the mini-series first night) did 1.1 million, and the most recent episode did 0.77 million.
By comparison, the breakout hits of the season -- "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" -- are doing 2.3 and 2.1 million respectively.
More disturbingly, BSG's lead-in, "Medium", did a 1.18 million last week, so BSG is showing about a 25% fall-off.
This probably won't lead to the show being cancelled in Australia -- though Network Ten just yanked the locally-produced version of "Queer Eye" after it scored 0.76 million -- but it might get bumped to the sort of late-night time-slot where most SF lives on Australian networks. (Which would be a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy -- "Medium" got billboard advertising, BSG didn't get much at all by comparison.)
Basically 10% of Australian house holds watched it which is an enormous figure

Basically 10% of Australian house holds watched it which is an enormous figure By way of comparison if 10% of USA watched 105 million households (2000 census). It would be 10.5 million households. Wouldn't that be great! Too bad but one can hope. ;D
