A contact over at Sci-Fi informed me that the overnights for Episode 1.07 remained flat- indicating that BSG was maintaining its audience. "There is no downward trend. We're delighted with its performance," the contact remarked. ;D KR

I guess it has found its audience; hopefully more will come onboard but I think that a steady 3 mil is about the most you are going to get for a cable Sci-Fi show these days.

SOOO... is there any actual concrete data about the ratings, or just conflicting "sources"?

There is really only one source for ratings data; the Nielsen report.
Nerdly bickering over the nature and meaning of the reported data has become something of a sport.
There are different ways of reporting the same numbers, and this is causing some confusion.
And of course, the same elements that were in denial about the ratings for the miniseries broadcast have the same doubts about the reality of the current level of popularity for the show in the US.
Some knowledge of statistics is needed to mentally grasp the meanings of those boring ratings figures, so I suppose it is easy to get confused and lose track about why the ratings exist- to set ad rates.
One figure I would like to see a little gloating about is the "audience share" number. This figure indicates the percent of households that are actually watching something while the program is airing. In other words, what portion of geeks watching television at that time are actually watching a specific program.
While the number really only reflects what percent of households that get the SciFi channel are actually watching, the rare cases that I have seen the number reported for BSG have had it floating around 5% share.
That means that one in twenty households that could watch the show at home (in the US) and were watching anything at that time were watching BSG.
I trust the guy at Fleets that has access to the reports. I suspect that a few "other" sources were understandably downplaying what is really a slight but real drop for US ratings for "Six Degrees." Until I see someone report something other than the 2.2 AA% for that ep, I will accept it as accurate.
If the 2.2 number is real, then it is a tick below ep 3. Not the end of the world, but a drop is a drop.
As long as the ratings are on par for what the SG franchise is delivering, one would think SFC would keep the show on, but tinker with the per episode costs to keep it financially viable.

What I'd like to see is the number of viewers for that ep. The series has ranged between 2.9 and 3.2 million. I'm guessing this one came in below that but I haven't seen the figure posted.

The number of viewers is just another statistical leap of faith. By the numbers, the assumption is that for every viewing household, there are 1.5 viewers.
You can learn lore about this kind of guess by googling "vpvh ratings" and sift through the tedium. It seems like the vpvh is concidered in each local sampling region.
We can avoid pointless argument and speculation by sticking to the total viewing households, as that is on a more solid statistical basis.
Part of the problem in discussing such details with people that like to believe that the show is not at all popular is the different ways the same data is expressed.
