The mini upon its inception was attacked and discredited by the hard core TOS fans, then it premiered and hit record numbers for Sci-Fi not to mention the positive press it received along with it. Despite this they still attacked and predicted that it would not be pick-up as a series.
Although, it was picked-up they dismissed the gesture and labeled it a failure, citing that only 13 episodes had been ordered and that it would first air on Sky One, these were all signs that all was not well with Moore's BSG. However, BSG was well received in the UK and it only help to hype up its premiere in the US; moreover, fans began to realize that quality trumps quantity, as the 13 episodes were tight and seldom strayed too far from the core arc.
Now BSG is here in the US it has helped create the greatest night of Sci-Fi ever, and its audience is growing. The press is creating a buzz and it is repeated during the week allowing new fans to catch up on what all the hoopla is about. Many of them will no doubt tune in, thus adding to the growing numbers. Therefore, with the numbers growing and a second season days if not hours from becoming official, I ask can we gloat now!
