Ya know, I just saw that quoted post from Langy's board & went there & checked it out for myself. Seems he's claiming that article which he obviously wrote himself is from The Associated Press/BBC America. I'm not 100% sure, but I do believe that is illegal in some obvious way...be it libel or simple misrepresentation. maybe someone should forward a copy over to AP...ask 'em who wrote it ;D

no spinoffs, please!
I for one don't like Stargate. It seems like StarTrek without space. The scripts are weak and "problem of the week." The day-to-day episodes are so painful that I can't get interested in the ongoing story-arcs at all. But, that's just one opinion.

The "Bastille Day" episode is likely to get high ratings, as it is pretty much the one and only "guest star" episode in the new series (okay, so Colonial Day could count as well...).
If there was one episode (aside from the 2-fer premiere the week before) that would get TOS fanatics to watch, this was it.
So we can quietly assume that the .1 ratings boost we got was from the handful of semi-fanatic TOS freaks who refused to watch the premiere but were so desperate for a Richard Hatch fix that they tuned in to see Bastille Day.
(Note: I consider myself a huge fan of TOS...but the "continuation or death" types sicken me, and internet trolls like this Languatron individual are prime arguments in favor of retroactive birth control.)

Languatron's been banned from most Bulletin Boards, so he's setup his own board which only HE can post on, so no-one can disagree with his "extreme", and occasionally downright bizarre views. I suppose that's the price of freedom.

This guy is to be ignored, period. He said the series would not occur. Then he said the series would be yanked off the air half way through its run. Now he says Season 2 is not a reality. Should we put our trust in him after all these erroneous predictions? I think not. KR

He's clearly not to be taken seriously! lol
However, him aside, I have to say I'm pretty impressed by the civility of this fandom. Most people seem pretty tolerant of people's views, and I'm finding it quite refreshing after all the negativity I've seen as a Stargate fan.
