Possible spoiler but mostly conjecture...
Having just watched the mini on DVD again for the 3rd time i was struck by a line of dialogue inthe final scene:
***spolier for mini - look away if you are yet to watch***
after the big reveal that Boomer is in fact one of the Cylon models, we hear Six's voice stating "By your command".
initially i just thought this was a nod to TOS but if you view it again, she appears to be saying it to the Bommer model.
could the Boomer model be the imperious leader of this series? having only seen the mini i may have missed numerous facts negating this theory but i would love to hear any ideas for/against this idea.

I kinda doubt it as far as I know it was a nod to TOS and also 6 has now said many times that boomer is a flawed model

I thought that it was Boomer saying that line? Will have to re watch that tonight to see?? that's what i thought the first 2 times i watched it. tonight however it was clear that boomer says "don't worry, we'll find them" and then it cuts to a wide shot of all the models standing around Ragnar and we hear Six's voice saying "by your command". that said, helo's post about the Boomer being a flawed model kind of rules my theory out...unless the Six in Baltar's mind is just his guilty conscience and not a chip at all.

Here's a better idea. What if the imperious leader isn't any one model, but a program that can transmit itself into any Cylon. So it kind of "possesses" it's followers, and acts through them. At the time it was controling that Boomer model.

I like the idea of an Imperious Leader (if there is such a thing in the Cylon hierarchy) who remains unseen, but perhaps takes the form of the human who designed the very first Cylon models.
