I was recently re-watching the Mini-series with a friend, and I noticed after Roslin and Adama talk about the fact that he made up knowing about Earth that there is a note on a pile of books. This note is like some you see being handed around in CIC, and it reads ''There are only 12 Clyon models." I just want to know has anyone figured out who gave him the note, or maybe where the information came from. I don't think it came from Roslin, and I seriously doubt Baltar would expose himself to Adama's suspicions by leaving him such a note. So who would give that to Adama? Is it possible that the Colonials have more information about the Cylons then we were led to believe? Is there a Cylon internal opposition that has decided to help the humans?

I don't know why, but I actually think it was Baltar. I cannot see it having been anyone else. Unless "6" did another leap out of Baltar and go back trick.

It almost has to be Baltar....but we still don't know why. I keep expecting this scene to turn up at the beginning of an episode to remind us of it so they can finally deal with it, but nothing yet...surely before the season's over we'll learn what its purpose was...

But leaving that note doesn't fit with any other of Baltar's actions since the mini or during it? Why woud he leave the note, or if it was six why would she do it? I hope they deal with it because I really want to know what this means.

They're gonna have to deal with it, because its clear the way the scene played out that its purpose was to give Adama this information, not us. We had already been told that there were 12 models of Cylon by Six right before the destruction of Baltar's house. So, Adama knows for a reason relevant to the plot somehow. Unless it turns out to be another case like the Russian on The Sopranos.

Wasn't it played out something like this:
Six teases Baltar about how is he going to give information to anyone without telling them his source -- well, the secret note was Baltar's way of doing that. Maybe. Perhaps.

Maybe. Perhaps. i think you nailed it right there. We are given no reason to believe anyone else knows that there are 12 models except Baltar, unless they left out a part of Adama's fight scene where Conoy informs Adama of it. This doesn't seem likely, judging by Adama's reaction to the note. Boomer and Dural are sleepers. Besides Conoy telling Adama a few things at Ragnar Anchorage ( ), Six is the only one letting out secrets, and she's only telling Baltar.

This doesn't seem likely, judging by Adama's reaction to the note. Speaking of Adama's reaction to the note, did you all notice that the first thing he did after finding the note was to lock his cabin door? Perhaps Adama is realizing his ship has been infiltrated...

That's the first thing i thought, too! That, and he was probably feeling a little paranoid about his own safety. Also, i thought it was kind of symbolic having Apollo as the last person to visit Adama before he finds the note and locks the door, almost as if to show that he is locking himself away from even the people closest to him. Although this is somewhat of an artsy-fartsy way to read into something that might not be there, i still think the scene shows vividly how alone Adama feels.
