O.k., this is a reverse scenario. Let's say Larson makes some TOS revival movies, and makes oodles of money. But after three or four the gross starts to drop (as is to be expected). By this time TNS has wrapped up. Larson decides to use his BSG movie rights to spin IT off. Would you support him? Hard choice. It would certainly help to get TOS fans on our side, but Larson's mind works differently than Moore's, and the vision would be different.

I would support it; one reason being because Larson, at the stage in his career he is at now, I seriously doubt he would be anything more than the producer; he would almost certainly hire outside writer/directors (and if he was making this inside any studio system, they would undoubtably demand that he do), and we would, in effect, be in their hands, not Larson's.
By that time, the series would be well-established enough for any compotent writer to be able to work within the formula; just like Chris Carter didn't direct the X-Files movie, I doubt that RDM would be at the helm of any TNS film, now or later...so we're probably talking about the same kind of situation no matter who makes the film and when...by the time it gets through the studios to the big screen, it'd probably be someone else's work, regardless.

Larson has yet to produce anything that I like as an adult (loved TOS, Buck Rogers, ect. but I was a kid) and therefore, I suspect that I would not enjoy his TOS movie or TNS spin-off. He just does not have the chops for serious adult themed entertainment, his shows were fun but seldom serious enough to grab me in my adult years.
Anyway, I hope that TNS will end at a place that will complete the story.

It all depends on Larson's ideas. Last time he had walking vipers which sent shockwaves through fandome.

I thought you left? Oh well, welcome back. I did but reconsidered. After all we are only discussing a TV Show.
