O.k., I now nominate myself for "Most obsessed TNSer." I recorded "The Lowdown" last night, and after the show was over I spent 45 minutes going frame-by-frame through the few pages they showed of the series bible. I was able to reconstruct this:

WOW, I saw that bible on the Lowdown and I thought how many of us would kill to get a copy of that. Thanks for doing this, some very interesting stuff in there.

Do these things ever become public or is it something that the creators keep for themselves?

If they do eventually become public, I would sure like to read it.

They're not intended too, but they do leak out often; sometimes they're no more than a page or 2 of facts & refrences, sometimes they can actually be called 'bibles'. I'd watch Ebay & the like, because they do show up occasionally, but its hard to verify thier authenticity at times.

The Series Bible for the classic series was available online, I recall reading it on a BSG fansite several years ago, a fansite that I think is no longer in existence. Darnit, I wish I'd have saved it at the time. The reason I didn't save it was that all it was was a few basic facts that are obvious to anyone who watched the show as religiously as I did, didn't really have any info that didn't end up on screen. A bit of character background info that never needed to be mentioned was about all the real background data that was new to me.

But any show with even vague hopes for a revival or renewal is unlikely to let its Series Bible out until all hope of resurection is gone. So I doubt the B5 or even X-Files bibles will ever come out in their true extents in the foreseeable future.

Oh, and the instant I saw that on the Lowdown special, I vowed to freeze-frame and do exactly what you did. I just didn't get a chance to do so yet. Glad someone else did it so I don't have to...
