Do you guys think that BSG airing at 10:00PM is good or bad? The way I see it is that it will not help or hurt the show as ratings, I suspect, will be solid but they would be so much better if it was at 9:00PM.
SG-1 should be moved to another day Monday would work and Sci-Fi Friday should be the two new shows back to back Stargate Atlantis at eight and BSG at nine.
Futhermore, SG-1 (a great show) is at its end, and this nith season should not happen. Richard Dean Anderson is leaving and while Ben Browder is great and an excelent choice, however, I think SG-1 has outlived it itself by two seasons and should not have a ninth.
Anyway, what do you think 10:00PM good or bad news?

Do you guys think that BSG airing at 10:00PM is good or bad? There are more viewers at 9:00 than 10:00, but on the other hand some of those viewers are younger.The advantage of the 10:00 time slot is that it reduces pressure on the producers to make the show "family-friendly" by making the plots simpler, the themes clearer, reducing the darker (more adult) content, and adding more Boxey-time, daggits, and Dr. Zee. Sci-Fi Channel only broadcasts original programming on two nights. Wednesday is their lame "reality TV" night, while Friday is their night for scripted original sci-fi shows. Someday perhaps SFC will have the money to add a third night of original programming, but not this year. |

I agree I would rather have it keep its adult themes and stay at 10:00PM over taking it down a notch for a better timeslot.

The 10pm time slot is a good one. BSG does have a lot of adult themes/situations and SG1 was shown on Showtime at 10pm for years. The Sci-Fi channel could have hedged their bets by sandwiching BSG between SG1 and SGA, insuring a large weekly audience, but BSG should be able to stand on its own merits and be successful.

NBC Re-airing of the BSG Miniseries (in an edited 3 hour format), Saturday January 8th from 8-11pm EST.
BSG Series Lowdown Special on Sci-Fi, Friday January 14th at 8:30pm EST
BSG Series Premiere: 33 & Water (First Two Back-to-Back Episodes on Sci-Fi), 9-11pm EST
BSG Miniseries Re-Airing (in the original 4 hour format), Sunday January 16th from 3-7pm EST.
BSG Series resumes in its 10pm EST slot successive Fridays starting January 21st.

I think that it is absolutely fantastic that Universal is really getting behind the show and the NBC airing will reach a lot of people previously unaware of the show.
Jan. 14th will also be very cool and a very smart move taking all of Friday night with BSG on Sci-Fi.

I'm in the central time zone so BSC series will be on at 9:00pm and thats GOOD for me! Just think of it, going to the western states, it gets even better for the time zones!!! ;D Go SciFi!! ( I get the TV back by then too)  |
