What in hell do they think they're doing? By combining "33" and "Water" into a single two-hour airing, they are stacking up SIX HOURS of BSG (four-hour mini plus two 1-hour episodes) in the very first week of broadcast. Do they think that the average viewer wants to watch that much all at once?? Personally I think it's a mistake to broadcast the first regular episode in the same week as the mini. They should broadcast the mini on week #1, then run "33" the following week, and so on. Also, they're broadcasting mini-series part I twice, but part II only a single time. Viewers that have schedule conflicts for that two-hour block will miss part II, which is the better and more exciting half of the mini, and also sets the stage for the entire series. There's another problem, too. Of all the episodes they could group together, why those two?? They aren't related! "Water" and "Bastille Day" go together; "Act of Contrition" and "Can't Go Home" go together. But "33" goes with the mini-series! Grouping it with "Water" is just bizarre. Looks like SFC is going to screw things up as usual.

My guess is they want to get as many episodes out by the end of January as possible. Mini and episodes 1-4. Thatt way they can get a ratings sample to decide to order a second season.

Even though I could probably watch 6 hours of BSG I think it's rediculous to expect the average Joe Bloggs to sit down and take it all in one go. The way I've seen it allows you to speculate and ponder about the themes over the period of a week before seeing the next one. I fear Sci-Fi may be shooting themselves in the foot here.

Also, there's not a single showing of either Bastille Day or Act of Contrition before 10:00 PM! I think that's getting a little late to capture big market share. They should be giving the show as much of a chance as possible to succeed, and this doesn't look like that chance.

Guys, and gals, this is the scifi Channel Proud makers of Species III, Anomus. Rex, and Lexx. For fracks sake they played LEXX and were proud of it. I really dont think there is much to worry about, scifi will do any series where it will play to an audience (farscape excluded)
