I've loved TNS since the mini. This evening, A friend sent me this link to a (political) blog where someone had posted an open discussion about Scifi Friday. Check out how many people are praising the new BG! (a few TOS fans dislike it, but I was more than a bit shocked at the amount of positive support for TNS). If this is any indication of the support it is gaining in the general public, all I can say is the future is looking as bright as that 50 megaton blast over Caprica City! Here's the jump for anyone with the inclination to look: www.dailykos.com/story/2005/2/11/154510/520May the Lords of Kobol grant us many fine episodes...

As a word of advice, anyone with strong political beliefs should beware of that blog- it is a far left one and Kos doesn't pull any punches with his opinions.

Thanks for the pointer Godfather. I wasn't aware, I generally try to avoid "wingnuttery" from both the right and left. The link I posted goes directly to the scifi discussion thread, and mentions little to nothing about politics. It should be quite easily digestable regardless of your political views. I don't understand your comment that those with "strong political views" should "beware" it though. I would think that would be the target audience for a political blog, left-wing or right-wing. Sorry if I somehow gave offense, Godfather. If so, I apologize with all due respect, and humbly ask "be my friend".

You didn't insult me at all- no worries. Kos has a bit of a reputation in the political community as being a Far Left guy. That's his right and I begrudge him nothing for. Same as with the Far Right people. That said, his board has some very very strong political beliefs that someone who goes over there for an innocent discussion might accidentally stumble into and be offended so it was just a simple warning about knowing where you're going- That's all. -Shawn

Only in the US during these particularly interesting times can Kos be designated as left, nevermind far left. As someone who came from a so-called socialist country, I can ony smile at the phenomenom.

Fellow Colonials and Cylons, I only put up the link because I thought it would be of interest to fans to see how widespread the appeal of TNS is. Please, for the sake of the Lords of Kobol, let's leave politics at the airlock of the Anchorage. I only ask this because I have seen political threads elsewhere devolve into the worst sort of name calling and childish actions (and that goes for both left and right). I'd hate for that to happen here. I'm not saying these things shouldn't be discussed, but I don't think this is the proper place. Let's leave politics out of this happy place Xenu has created for us. Please? Adept Havelock
