Hey, Thanks, for some some of your comments and suggest. I feel little better now... ViperPilotMomma, you are correct about this part. All of those previews/promo are also hand written. So anything you would add, will be great! I just want to let you guys know, anything, I mean anything you want to add is great help. I mean it, so don't be afraid to bring stuffs to here. There's no stupid questions or stuffs you can have for here. I am opened mind and welcome anything you have for here. What a great idea to do this. Can I ask a question as you've just said stupid questions are ok. I have a friend who teaches hearing impaired/deaf children and she is amazing at lipreading. I've often wondered if people who can lipread pick up stuff from tv and films that other people miss and if it's sometimes nonsense, just sort of background noise or adds anything to the viewing. I don't suppose anyone out there knows what Scully's dad (aka as General Hammond -SG1 <g>) was mouthing to Scully when she woke up to see his spirit sitting in a chair talking to her. I think the X Files ep was 'Beyond the Sea' Thanks Erika

Hmm I can lipreading a little. Usually on topic that is relate to what's they are acting or talking about. I can check it out. I dont know when X-Files' on but I can check it out when it's supposed to be on and try it out. Unless there's already big deaf/hoh fan already out there that have DVDs of that and can help out with that. I love lipreading and mostly of it was self taught for me. No one bother to help teach me, dunno why but...that doesnt matter now. Ya know lip reading can be so cool if you try it on cute actor...? Hmm I must be weird to do stuff like this? Lol.

Am I ever thankful that I found this thread! I am not hearing impaired myself, but my husband is, and he is a huge fan, he's been pouring over the resources that have been pointed to so far in this thread.
Thank you so much for bringing this up!

(I had trouble finding this thread so I tacked it up here for the time being...) ( Disclaimer: I am by no means a closed-captioned guru - so I don't know how its normally done. I apologise if it may be a little confusing to read and follow. I wanted to make sure that I was as accurate as I could be with the sounds as well as the dialogue bits. I just hope this helps our fellow hearing-impaired members have a fuller BSG experience. If anyone has something to add to this, content or syntax wise, please feel free to make changes. Also, if I got something wrong please correct me. Enjoy!) Previews for next week's ep, to air 3/25/05: Announcer: "Next Battlestar Galactica..." (Unknown Pilot watches a rogue cylon raider is flying towards his cockpit *sound of raider screaming in*) Pilot ('cause I'm not sure who it is): "Oh my gods!" Pilot #2 (watching from his cockpit): "They're everywhere!" <more crashes and explosions> Tyrol (I think): "Let's get out of here!" <sound of a raptor flying away over a planet or moon> (Text on screen): "THE FINAL TWO HOURS" Adama: (off camera) "We need a way to take out the baseship before we can... Adama: (on camera) "...attempt a rescue." (Text on screen): "HAVE ARRIVED" Number Six (off camera): "I thought you should know..." Number Six (on camera): "...that its not safe to remain on Galactica." (to Baltar) *sound of a gun being cocked as Sharon (I don't know which one!) puts it in her mouth* *end of preview* Announcer: "Part one of the Battlestar Galactica season finale, next friday at 10 on Sci-Fi." Best Regards, VPM

This make me can't wait until next week becuz the ep look/sound good.
This isn't hard or confusing to follow. It is pretty good in my opinion. Thanks.
Is it only moderators of this website can tact the thread right? I wanted to do that so thread couldn't sink out of the view, but couldn't find any symbol that looks like tact.

Thanks, I'm glad I was able to help out. CylonGod is right that tacking a thread is a mod function. In the future, you can PM myself or one of the other mods if you think something would benefit from being tacked. We'll assess the situation and make the necessary changes. Of course, you could do it artificially, so to speak, by posting in a thread if its wandered down out of site. When you post in a thread, have you ever noticed that it moves up a couple of slots to stay in chronological order with the other threads in that folder? It won't appear at the top of the page if there are mod tacked threads up there, but it will be closer to the top than it was before. However, if left alone for too long it will wander off the radar screen again, so having a mod tack it would be more effective.

There was an episode of "Yes Dear" where Tom Bosley's character becomes an extra and there's a scene where he's in the background of the kitchen as the other characters speak and it looks like he's talking to the fridge (funny moment). He says that an acting trick is that the extras just say 'carrots and peas" over and over again, but worried "there's gotta be deaf people somewhere going "why is everyone in the background saying carrots and peas carrots and peas!"

I don't mean to be mean but I'd like to know why this should be on the sticky thread? What's so special about it?

Its not just a Deaf/HoH discussion thread as the name may lead one to believe. As you may have seen back closer to the beginning of the thread, the previews for each new episode are not closed-captioned, which means that the hearing impared folks are missing out on what's going to happen next week. Those of us who are not hearing impared are helping out by providing a written version of the previews on this thread. For the time being, the thread has been tacked so we don't loose track of it.

Well, to me, it's no big deal to have a closed captioned preview episodes. I'd like to be surprised but hell, it's not for everyone. Oh well....glad to know this thread isn't treated as a special case because I wouldn't be happy and demand to be on equal footing.

Oh, one more thing I want to let you guys know...if my grammar is so bad and isn't clear enough for you to understand, please do let me know. English is tough language for me to use, and it is not my first/primary language. Sign language is and it is very much different from English. Please, be patience . I apologize for any uncomfortable or unclear message I sent and will send to you.

No big deal since I do understand both English and sign language very well since English is my first language even though sign language should have been my first language but no, it's not the case. Long story.
